No, that is not how it works. Before they switch it to undetermined, someone at DOJ has to run a NICS check again. The NICS NTN from that check has to be given to the FFL. This is always a manual process. Everything being done by DOJ is slow right now, including flipping people to undetermined.

Days 15...still pending...next Monday will be days 17. This is horrible. Does anyone know about their updated law regarding 30 days wait before able to buy another handgun? I heard it’s 20 days after the actual pickup day of the 1st gun that you can submit another DROS. Is that correct? What a shady organization.Comment

You can make an application to purchase every 30 days. So after 720 hours since your last DROS was submitted, you can submit another. When you pick up the gun does not matter. You could pick up the last gun 5 minutes before applying to buy another, so long as more than 720 hours has passed when you submit the next DROS.Days 15...still pending...next Monday will be days 17. I've been lurking around for quite some time now and I went through the same issue. My DROS was not switched to undetermined immediately, it happened on the 6th day after the mandated 30 day. So yeah, the system, the people, the whole DOJ system might still be understaffed. I'm hoping it will be faster in the future months.
Hope this helpsComment

Day 31
Got switched to undetermined. Turdners doesn't deliver on undetermined so I will be getting my refund minus DROS fees. They tried to give me some bull**** that refunds over $150 has to be by corporate check and it'll take a week, then when I asked if this was stated on any of the papers they had me sign they told me to come down to the store and they'll "try" to put it back on my debit card..

Well, I've been trying to get my gun since March. I bought on March 9, started DROS March 12. Then my store closed due to COVID and stayed closed through my entire 30 days. This was Sportsman's Warehouse Milpitas. Now this location has closed permanently. I was very unhappy. But in their defense, last week they really did right - they refunded my entire purchase, and also my entire DROS and locks fee.
So I started all over again, this time with a recommendation from a member here - with another FFL member here, ugimports. So far, so good. With my recent history I'm kind of on pins & needles though since the bay area shelter is still in place...and what with stopsantiago.com and all.Comment

Man these threads are pretty scary. Been holding some cash since Jan. now I find the 2 guns I want but am not willing to go through this right now.
Plus I need to find a FFL that releases undetermined because of all this crap just in case.

So while I'm sitting here and waiting while my rifle is in jail, I'm wondering regarding the spread of 10 days to 30 for pickup if it's regional, or business volume related. As in if it's that they have someone assigned to review certain areas and some are busier then others, or maybe depending on your business type/size/volume you get assigned to a different queue?
Just curious..... cause while I'm only on day 2 (less one hour)..... I'm already antsy about getting my new tool out of lockup....Comment

Just picked up mine on Day 17. The one I had just before this was done on day 13 so definitely getting slower.LA County CCW HolderComment
