I'm thinking of the same. We are surrounded by free states. I'm looking for a place w/o snow, doesn't get too hot and would allow me to keep my handsome salary...

right the current law merely addresses that it takes a tool to remove the mag.

Except when this gets signed into law, those "free" states are going to be next on the chopping block, in fact, another "permanent" AWB won't be that far behind if 249 becomes law here.

And I don't believe that the "free" states will welcome you with open arms, you're "contaminated" or "tainted" in their eyes.

I'm sorry for the negativity, but with today's vote, I've pretty much lost any and all faith in this state. Moving out of state will only be a temporary fix until the elections...

Bottomline folks, this is far from over. Thank you "Lyeberrian" for the civics lesson. If this goes back to the senate, we need to work our senators over. I'm screwed as I have Lois Wolk, who did not even bother responding to my email when I asked her about her stand on 2A and in the assembly I have Yamada which voted YES for this today. It really is silly to have something so poorly presented and written become a law. They say there are two things you don't wanna see being made- sausages and laws. Today was a good lesson why this is true. The liberal media has twisted and mangled this story by implying that only racists are against this thing - the same liberals that criticized Bush for the "With us or Against us stand." I am thinking of writing letters to my newspapers, hopefully it may open the eyes of some people. Writing laws on banning and/or criminalizing things they themselves admitted to not have a good understanding is galatically stupid. To have it make it this far is down right embarrassing.

My thoughts exactly, what is this BS?

WE SHOULDN'T EVEN HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE F@*KING BULLET BUTTON. But we do.

We all know a bullet is a tool, so SB 249 will also ban all ammo capable of being used with a bullet button. People with skinny fingers will also be sent to a special prison where they will be fattened up.

Mr. Yee is a clown. If politicians, (like we need very many of them), would leave the law abiding citizens alone to enjoy the constitution of this country as it was written, instead of trying to re-write it into their own personal ideals and go after the criminals, this wouldn't be an issue. I don't know how anyone could sit there and truly believe that because of a few dirtbag criminals, the entire populace needs to be policed. SHAME ON YOU MR.YEE, PULL YOUR HEAD OUT!!! --How many people die in car accidents every year? what's next? outlawing all motor vehicles? --SEE THE POINT?

Yamada is not on the Assembly PS Committee and did not vote on SB249 today.
