    Dillon Press for CHEAP

Hi i was wondering if this is a good idea, i have a coworker that is selling a Dillon 550 and 650 for $250 each, i dont know what it comes with or if its just the press? i will take a look at it this weekend if they are the 550 and 650 i think imma just have to suck it up and buy them both. im hoping it comes with some other stuff.

Also what is the warranty on Dillon for things like this? to send it back and maybe get the newest model has anyone tried? just wondering if it is even worth the buy. Thanks guys

I will buy one of the two off you if you don't want one. I've been looking for a second 550 and was considering the basic. Dillon is good about fixing the machine if it's broke or giving you small components if they are missing. Doesn't matter if you are second owner. The 550 did get some upgrades but that was a long time ago (except for the powder system which was more recent). Both powder systems are good, I run an amalgam of the two.

You would be kinda dumb not to get them both.

Get all the tooling and parts that may come with them.

        Thats a SMOKING good deal.

thats a smoking deal.... buy them both. Hopefully, it has all the goodies with it, but if not, still a great deal.

Maybe I'm not in the "make buck at any cost" kinda guy, but he's got every right to make money off his presses too. If you wanna use both I'd say fool no to buy both. But if at the end of the day you want and plan to just use one, I say buy one and let him sell to someone else too.

Personally, I think you can't go wrong with both and tool up both. for personal use, not to flip.

I have an old friend that works at another distribution center, and he is sending me an RCBS partner for free. I'll probably use it for .308, or something when I get it.

You are doing better than even my free-deal!
BUY THEM BOTH, if you can afford them!

+1 to buying both / smokin' deal. 550 is probably the *best* starter progressive press in the universe. Brian Enos has a lot of really helpful Dillon info on his site.

It won't be long before you want the 650 set up for whatever you load the most, and a couple of toolheads on the 550 for everything else. If it doesn't come with a casefeeder, consider getting one for the 650 after you get settled in with the presses.

If you don't want the 650 I could use another especially if it's stripped down. I just want one for brass processing

I started on a 650. It's fantastic to load with. I think I paid just under 600 for the press alone. Once you start adding toolheads and quick change kits, it'll add up if you reload more than one caliber.
