Am I the only one who worries that such a ridiculously low price, especially on the 650 could mean that they are stolen? Call me paranoid, but it's that old, "if something seems to good to be true, it probably is" thing.

Also what is the warranty on Dillon for things like this? to send it back and maybe get the newest model has anyone tried? just wondering if it is even worth the buy. Thanks guys
You jump on that and I'll buy them from you for $350 each! without any dies!

Dillon warranty is forever, doesn't matter how old it is or what model.

Not quite true. 1050 is only 1 year.

              • You don't need the cover.
              • You don't need a full "ez-buy conversion" for each caliber. It's nice but unnecessary, just get a micrometer uniquetek micrometer powder bar kit for one powder system. I like dillon dies but you can use lee dies. Extra tool heads are nice, so just get three tool heads, three powder dies, and a caliber conversion kit for each caliber.
              • You don't need/want the toolholder. You have a allen set and a crescent wrench already
              • The gempro 250 is a better scale for a bit cheaper.
              • The roll handle is bling, nice but totally unnecessary
              • The low powder sensor is dumb, you are staring right at the hopper the whole damn time.
              • Buy the akro bins at HD or online, don't pay $24.95 for a bin.
              • You don't need the machine cover either.
              • You really don't need a bullet tray
              • Any primer flip tray works
              • why buy a 650 strong mount if you are buying no 650 components?
              • Seriously don't buy any damn covers. It's called an old pillow case.
              • you are staring RIGHT AT THE HOPPER, you don't need a powder check. If this is the 650 no powder charge in case warning then disregard but remember you have NO parts for a 650 in your order list so why bother buying this one?

              • The strong mount is worth it
              • The extra primer tubes is worth it
              • The maintenance kit is worth it

$350 with a pile of akro bins from HD, and Lee dies.

More on why you don't need a powder check. You cannot load more than 100 rounds on ANY dillon press without checking your press, this is because you have to repack the primer drop tube. At that point you look at the hopper and top it off. There nearly no cartridge that takes so much powder that you'll run out of a hopper full in 100 rounds. I have NO IDEA why anyone buys the low powder check system.

I agree with milo that the powder measure low powder alarm is stupid but the case powder charge alarm seems like a good thing.
I also like the roller handle. Just transfers a lot of movement from your hand to the handle.
Bullet tray is ok but less necessary in my book. It adds to the ergonomics and is well built. People are right when they say it's a great place to put your hand. Also you won't spill over a box of bullets.

Agree with most everything milotrain posted. I have a 550 and I've never once covered it with anything. I do have the metal bullet tray and tool set. I like having everything I need handy, but it is true you don't need either. The tray is nice to rest my left wrist on and I can reach down pick up a projectile and seat it comfortably.

His point about running out of primers every 100 rounds is spot on. At that point, you'll be looking right at the powder hopper, so you'll see if it is getting low. I like to keep mine at least 1/2 if not 3/4 full.

My 550 came to me used so I sent it back to Dillon for refurb. They charged me $65 or so and through in a bunch of free stuff.

It also came with the low primer warning, which I actually like and use. Not sure I'd spend the money to replace it though if it broke.

Me either, and I bought one. I put it on only because it takes up space on my bench if I don't use it. I can say that the little red light has only come on and made noise when I push the button. But when I made my crazy Dillon buy list a few years ago I had to have one. didn't fall for the cover though... my 550b gets an old beach towel... buy the extra parts kit ...it is really really nice to have.

I'd buy both, sell both, buy a lee turret press and every set of dies I'd ever need, brass, bullets, powder, primers, and still have money left. but that's just me....

Ok guys I was half way right and half wrong. Well he has 2 presses. 1 square b and the other is a RL 550. Are these a good deal for $200 each. Missing some pieces. The 550 has a 45 acp die, a 4 set. And the square b I don't know what caliber but it has dies on it. Missing pieces too. Should I get both or just the 550.

Plus what is the difference between the 550 and 550B.

The 550 B has some upgrades but dillon will sell you a kit to turn a 550 into basically a 550 B. Totally worth it. The square deal uses propriatary dies but it is really small and very good to load pistol on. If it has dies for a caliber you need I'd say get it, even without those a new square deal goes for $350 or so, still a good deal although not as good as the 550.

Specifically it looks like that 550 doesn't have a case ejector setup, that's a cheap part, like $25 or so. The Dillon .45acp dies are great, that's $50 right there.

I don't think they made a 450 with that vent hole on the rear upper spine. They did make one with a "trussed" front spine but it says RL450 in big casting on the rear spine so it would be obvious if it was a 450. Can't tell in the photo. Actually with the primer wheel, and the printing on the ram support I'm fairly sure it's a 550.
