I have used CLP for years and years in .mil and LE applications. No issues whatsoever and I can't recall any failures ever even with beat up, rattling firearms with super high round counts.

On my personal weapons I have been using Eezox for a while without a hitch. Eezox smells good, works great, and dries while still keeping the weapon lubricated. If you ever concealed carry and have gotten CLP or other lube on your nice clothes then you will appreciate a dry lube.

Well I have a personal situation where edible, would be great! Anything that has little skull and crossbones or says poison has to be locked up. Do you know how many locked areas/cabinets I have in my house? 10 that's right 10 and I'm getting pretty annoyed with having 10 stuffed locked areas just for simple things like cleaners. So yes a lube safe for human consumption would be FANTASTIC in my world.

So, are you eating it? Or your kids? Or your pets??

Or is it the Californian issue of your SO not liking the smell, or you worrying about the cancer?

Im no expert in froglube. The main reason im not an expert is my tried and true system, hoppes #9 and clp has worked for longer than I have been shooting. Theres nothing at all wrong with those choices, so I never chased this particular holy grail. Im certainly not reading 4 pages about how isnt what people thought it was.

It strikes me as a gimmicky taktikool solution to a problem I havent encountered in 40 years of buying, shooting, and storing guns.

But gimmicky companies are counting on you to buy into their solution to a problem that doesn't exist! Some people base what they buy off of tried and true products that have worked for generations. I prefer stuff that is colorfully packaged and sold on an infomercial by a guy wearing cool tactical pants and wraparound sunglasses.

Yeah, give CorossionX a try, its awesome stuff. You can also see some of the results on my Youube link below as I did a 3-part video on some of the popular oils for their anti-rusting properties.

FrogLube did pretty well but yes, I agree it wouldn't be nearly as good for cleaning as you need a good solvent for that. One of the other things I didn't like about FL is that it mandates you to degrease the gun from any previous petroleum-based product and you can't use anything else but FL once it is applied (unless you degrease the FL off). I felt that this was almost like 'Obamacare' as I said in my video because it was mandating certain things that I felt were pretty silly.

Anyways, look-up CorossionX on their website. They are in official use by the U.S. military and actually started-off in the aerospace industry. People that own planes will often get an aerosol version of Corossion X and put it into a big compressor and fog their airframes with Corossion X.

Also, in my experience (and I know there are many other people with much more experience than I) if I had to choose one do-it-all product, despite my raving about Corossion X, it would probably be BreakFree CLP.

                    Does everything pretty well.

Wait, I just rememberd that Corossion X does have an aerosol spray so maybe it can be more economical to use as a CLP too. Damnit, I just confused myself.

I use shooters choice 10fp and it works great. I also use mobil1 oil. A quarter will last you a lifetime. Good thing about motor oil is that it works great for long term storage because it doesn't dry up.

Old thread but nonetheless, just felt the need to chime in on my FL experiences. Never again..... What a nightmare, Perhaps I overlubed, or did not wipe off all the excess, yada yada, I've been cleaning and maintaining my firearms for many years now, and will not go a single range session without immediately cleaning before storing away. So needless to say I am OCD with maintenance and cleaning. I tried froglube out based on a recommedation by I forget whom, and it seemed great at first, that is until I had a few of my guns sit idle for a few months. Wow my 1911 when I went back to visit it was so gummed up, and the lube had turned a nasty brown, I could barely even rack the slide, it was that gummed up. Just finished cleaning my Benelli shotgun which was also gummed to hell, and in addition It looks like the Froglube sitting between the barrel jacket and the inner receiver created some weird wavy wear pattern or finish damage within the receiver, perhaps the oxidation of the FL damaged the finish within the receiver. The finish damage within the receiver shouldn't affect the performance whatsoever and the inside of the receiver will continue to get worn as the shotgun is used more and more, however, not exactly stoked to have a nearly brand new firearm have some odd looking finish wear due to what I believe was the many months of froglube oxidation. The fact that the lube wiped off a brown color and turned into a gummy brown mess leaves me no other conclusions. Just thought I'd share my frustration/experience with the product, back to Eezox, Hoppes or Breakfree for me.

And in regards to reading the manual, never have I had to read a manual before using any lubricant prior, seeing as they all work relatively the same, If froglube requires such a radically different process than EVERY other lubricant on the market how about a big BOLD warning on the bottle itself to forewarn users that this lubricant application process is completely different then every other out there.

FL will exchange your old product for new if you mail it in. You can tell the new bottles apart because they feature a gold seal which the older version didn't have.
Is there more info on this? I checked their website just now, and did not see anything regarding the difference in formula.

I prefer the KISS principle. No need for the latest and greatest.

One note though...I found that I got a small rust spot on my carry piece at the rear sight. No matter what I put on there, it kept coming back. Once I put mPRO7, the rust went away. And stayed away so far and it's been months.

So I do believe the mPRO7 is good shtuff.

                                You obviously screwed-up.

In addition, you seem not too trusting of a product INVENTED BY A NAVY SEAL...at least one who figured a way to buy TrackLube in 50 gallon drums and repackage it in tiny containers for profit...

Moreover, you need to trust the fact that the stuff works, even though there's never been quantitative test data provided by the NAVY SEAL.
