It's a product in search of a problem to me. I'e been using a combo of Hoppes products, light machine oil and later clp, and white lithium grease for the Garand and M1a for a LOOOOONG time. Zero issues, zero rust, zero actions locking up because I "used it wrong".

I laughed at the latest and greatest, bestest super duper frog lube cult that sprang up. Interesting to see disciples of frog lube react to heresy the way the church of Scientology does...
Full victim is definitely the best way to explain that. It's not as if the people posting about problems with frog lube are just making crap up. Probably the funniest part about the FL cult is when someone who actually used that junk on their firearms posts about problems, the rest of the cult will pretend that the problems don't exist.

Personally I don't care what the cult of FL thinks. I care about what the product does, and no other lubricant on the market that I've ever seen has the problems that FL does. Sure, they supposedly fixed it but what other lube have you ever seen has had a problem like this:

I know there is a lot of heated debate about FL, seems you either love it, or hate it, well on another Forum a issue has been brought up. Froglube and Mold forming on stored guns. I am not sure about linking another forum, and i hate to copy and paste, but here is a pick and a response the OP...

    With replies like this gem:
Anytime there is a mold problem, I suspect a humidity problem.
So the product that's supposed to protect against things like rust in a humid environment molds, and the first thing that guy wants to do is try to blame the humidity? If that kind of stuff happened before the FL hype machine got into full swing, the company would be out of business since no one would find that to be acceptable.

Full victim of what, exactly? I use Ballistol on all my guns. For the record, I've used FL, but find that Ballistol spray cans work best for me.

I was just wondering what's got all your panties in a bunch. Like I said... pretty laughable.

Since when is bringing up verified problems with a product, equivalent to having a vendetta against it? Like I said, no one is just making stuff up. All we're doing is discussing the product. Why do you care so much if someone says something negative about it?

When someone posts that a product isn't working properly, and you flit and pithily observe there is a vendetta against the product, you ask victim of what? Do you know what vendetta means? Because under no definition of the word is this a vendetta. That's lame hyperbole. Ironic coming from someone who pretends to be laughing about others' bunched panties.

Full victim is a 100% accurate description of your comment. Your turn, How are my panties in a bunch? Ridiculous hyperbole by you. I don't use it and don't see a need for it. How are my panties in a bunch? I realize that pretending I'm having some effeminate issue makes you feel better about my observation that YOU went full victim, but lets review. YOU demanded to know why there is a vendetta, then YOU accuse me of having my panties in a bunch.

You need to obtain a clue.

For the record, you're way too emotionally invested to have simply tried frog lube.

Something that should never need to be typed when discussing a lubricant of all things. Yet from his response you would think we said his wife was fat or something.

Sounds like some are not properly applying the Frog. You have to wipe off the excess. But on a side note FireClean is much better.

Wow, just wow. I posted a few simple lines, just my opinion of how this thread reads, and you guys are going crazy on me.

Tell me, who again is it that is way too emotionally invested here? And why?

Edit: And if your panties weren't in a bunch before... whew, boy are they now! (Just look at the quote above)

I use Froglube on 2 of my handguns, a Glock and a 1911. After 2 years of use I've concluded that it works, it works well, I can use it indoors, and although it costs more per ounce compared to other CLP's its actually been cheaper for me as it goes along way. I'm only 1/3 of the way thru the small $20 kit I bought 2 years ago(I would of gone thru 4 cans of Breakfree/RemOil/Ballistol/ect.. in 2yrs). I plan to switch all my handguns to FL as my 2yr trial has been nothing but positive. Do I think its the BEST?! No, but I cant say anything i'ver ever tried is better either. I could care less about the haters or the fools that think its magic. It works GREAT FOR ME and I'm using it. Oh, works great on all my knives as well

No dog in this fight but I might mention that IMHO any lubricant for about any pupose should have avalible "specs" on the said oil relating to whatver thay are pushing.

Example : low metal wear rates then have test data on industry wear tests, same for rust protection, stianing or salt water resistence.

ALL reputable oil products have this data all run normally toward a ASTM test routine that is peer reveved and is repeatable.

I hate to see vauge stuff like "lasts forever", "reduces wear" "stops rust" but no test data is ever presented just some home made BS test that compares to NOTHING.

See what im talking about google up ANY major oil companies data sheet on about anything and there wil be listed many ASTM tests.

                              rant off

If you are going to pay for some magic stuff at least the suppler should provide proof of what they are saying in a industry type format.
