After pulling them out of the safe, I chamber checked them (cause you never know), and was just confused. The slides felt like they were hydraulic in nature, and the springs seemed almost useless. After disassembling them, I realized that the Froglube used had dried up in the safe and had formed into a weird texture. Has anyone else had this problem? I've never had something sit for this long in the safe without shooting and clean in between, but because of scheduling conflicts, I haven't had the chance to shoot as much as before... back to Jardine's grease and Mobil1 I guess.

It sounds like you might have the old formulation of FrogLube. It didn't feature the anti-rancid additive the new one does. FL will exchange your old product for new if you mail it in. You can tell the new bottles apart because they feature a gold seal which the older version didn't have.

I believe "edable" the drunk spelling of "edible," with the poster suggesting nothing capable of being consumed internally by a human being could possibly be a suitable lubricant for machine parts.

                the plot thickens....

he knows about lube. just not other words, their spelling, and the grammar that connects them

If you go through life with a general policy of avoiding things which are sold via goofy, hyper marketing, you usually come out ahead in the end.

I don't respond to the type of silly hype that was pushing frog lube. It was like a bunch of Amway lemmings running off a cliff.

Froglube has worked just fine for me but I received it as a gift and wouldn't buy it myself just because of how much cheaper regular CLP is.

I use frog lube. never had real issue.

I honestly don't see why people are hateing. yes its more of a process to use then CLP. but doesn't make it bad. using a gun correctly is process too.

I find that its super easy to clean when using that Russian ammo.
I have tried many lubes and cleaners from hoppies/ sweets7.62; rem /brake free; mobile one and wheel bearing grease; lucas gun oil and atf

frog lube by far out performs all the above for ease of cleaning that dirty Russian ammo.

now as far as rust preventer and lube. I bet not as good as oil/greases. but haven't gotten rust yet. or ware. and I'm 1000+ rounds in.
I used in temp of 20-140F it does get fun at about 120+ That where I started worrying that it may not be working because it was just coming out pores of the gun. it got kinda messy too. but all seem to work fine.

But to be honest it does seem a lot like pig fat. feels acts same. Wife likes the mint to hoppie. but I like hoppies. guess who wins that one. lol

Guess it kinda proves as long as there some kind of oil guns will work fine.

Still use rem oil on my old Winchester though. but it never sees that Russian crap.

and for long term storage use cosmoline its mess but you can leave that gun in storage in FL for 100 years and it be fine.

Guess lube is like everything else. you like one thing I like another all have strengths and weakness just pick one that works for you and get the job done.
you car has more then one time of lube and for each type there hundreds of different brands why should guns be any different.

PS ATF is replacement for a male whale fluid. so that whole lickable gun thing. don't do it. that 100% bio and "safe" to eat.
don't know what im saying google it.

sorry cannot spell never could thats what spell check is for.

ment to say what advantage is a edible lube anyway? who cares?
Why is edible a qualifing factor in picking any gun lube?
                            What advantage is that anyway?

Bye the way a lot of fatty vegtable or aninmal based oils will gum as they oxidize I want my lubes to stabile and not have top worry if i put to much or the gun is stored hot or wet etc. I want full retard synthethic's

100% synthetic and environmentally friendly lubricants and cleaners. Slip 2000 Lubricants and cleaners will work in all conditions, lubricate, clean, and protect.

I cleaned my rifle before a class using ewl. I fired about 2300 round over a 4 day class in dusty then rainy conditions. I never cleaned it during that week since classes were going 10 to 12 hours a day then drive home, but added a few drops of lube a day. When I did clean it a week later (life happens) My bolt carrier just wiped clean. no carbon build up anywhere. I am a firm believer of slip 2000 products.

By the way no malfunctions at all. No fail to feeds no double feeds NOTHING.

I wouldn't trust any lube which requires an 'anti-rancid' additive to keep from turning into puke.

Plain old wheel bearing grease, militec-1, slip, weaponshield, CLP, etc., can be left on a gun in the safe for YEARS if not decades, and still function when pulled out.

If a lube works well with your Glock, it means nothing. A Glock will probably function lubed with urine and crap, and still not rust
