And that is that for the most part, people who have tattoos are criminals, or thugs, or some other dangerous sub-culture. If you are not aware of this, you must be really young.

Yes, I know that nowadays almost everyone under 30 has some tattoos, but it still doesn't change our initial reaction to them.

Sorry but I have been put in a similar situation as a seller.. With firearems related items I will always do my due diligence and ask questions for liability reasons if I see fit. At least I can say i asked if there is a knock on the door.

Would you sell something no questions asked if you had a suspicion they may be a prohibited person? I wouldn't. I wouldn't take it personally if somebody asked me either. I would shrug it off and go about my day.

And knowing that, why are you still including yourself in that group who thinks that tattoos = criminal?
