Fact of life, that you should have figured out by now. In fact, it seems like you have, based on your use of the descriptive word "thuggish" in describing yourself.

Too bad you weren't this self aware before you chose to label yourself within society, by choosing to get "ink" (also your word).

Since you do look "thuggish" (again, your word), I'm glad that the seller was responsible enough to inquire as to your intentions. That, in my opinion, reflects well on the gun community.

I'm sure you'll agree that self-policing is good, wont you?
Self Policing? Seems more like ignorance to me.He asked him if he was buying ammo for his gang, wtf does that mean.
Maybe showing respect to fellow gun owners would be a better way to go about it.

At Iron Sights there are all kinds of tattoo'ed people there and some look and act like bangers and some look and act like gun lovers. Also I don't know how you came at the guy but that may be something also. The guy could just be a douche also. Lastly stop calling yourself a "minority" just call yourself an American!
In my local range from time to time on the weekends, groups of youngsters go in there and act a fool.. muzzle sweeping, being loud, cursing, etc. They are "cholos", or wannabees, and should be nowhere near a firearm. Im a genuine gun lover. I dont own guns to look cool or tough.

Made what choice? To buy ammo off of Armslist?

I actually own my own business, but work from home. Everyday is casual Friday.

I was wearing Nike running shoes, sweat pants, and a T shirt. A T shirt that fit me btw, not some 4XL pro club dress.

People make generalizations. When I see someone all tatted up first thought I have is that they must not use critical thinking. When I was 10 I liked GI Joe, glad I didn't get a tat of it though. When I was 20 I liked Michael Jackson, SURE GLAD I didn't get an MJ tatt.

I have also found, through my interactions with tatted people, that many of them are "stuck" in the era and mindset of their tats.

Say someone got a really beotchen Peter Frampton tattoo back in the day. Well, it's 2013 and they still have it in full visibility. Well, they either have to own it (aka it's cool and so is Frampton) or they have to accept the fact that it was a dumb move and that they regret it. Guess what, most will stay true to the old tatt, rather than admit they have grown up, and or moved on with their lives. It just kinda keeps them locked in a time-period they are now committed to forever.

I OUTWARDLY laugh when I see dudes with those REALLY KEWL (aka late 80's) tribal tatts wrapped around their biceps.

I didn't say you did, but you DID say that some folks could perceive you as such because of how you look. If I misunderstood you, my apologies.

Would these people get the same idea if you weren't covered in tattoos? Do you think this man would've reacted differently if you'd shown up wearing a suit and tie?

You can play "what-if" all day long. The question is, have you saved that man's life? Did you put your life on the line for him?

Wanna know what makes me think twice and look at someone in a bad light? It's silly, but it's my own prejudice gained from an experience of having dealt with it in a negative setting: Flat billed baseball hats.

I came home one afternoon to an asshat in a flat-billed baseball hat trying to break into my house. Every time I see someone in a flat billed hat, I see that punk. Right or wrong, it is what it is.

Getting profiled is nothing new to me, I just posted this to bring the issue to light for gun enthusiasts. There are gun owners of every color, creed, age, gender, and walk of life. You should never profile a fellow gun lover.
