There are a couple people I would lend my guns too.

I know them very well. We shoot together a lot. I know how well they take care of their own guns. So it wouldn't be a problem.

    Three people I trust.

For everyone else, it is a big NO.

Plastic pistols, sure. 1911's, nope. Rifles, not really.

I have access and can borrow at anytime, any one of my brothers, fathers or best friends firearms. I'll let someone borrow one of mine if I feel that they can handle the firearm in a competent and safe manner.

Well said, trying to show off to impress some chick, big no-no he will be to distracted let alone with no basics. Now if you were invited and he paid for some ammo then maybe?

And then have the balls to ask if i had ammo for them. Are f*ing kidding me? He's not a regular shooter, and I've never seen him shoot before.

I've never had anyone borrow them before. And wtf, why was i not invited? I'm older, but not that old... (32, I look younger than that) Anyway, I've allowed others to try out my firearms while I am at the range, but never without my physical supervision. Any of you let others "borrow" your firearms without your physical supervision?

A novice 21 year old shooter, trying to impress girls, using your guns, and ammunition doesn't sound like a good mix.

I've never let anyone "borrow" my guns, when I wasn't present. Tell him if he wants one he's 21 and could buy his own or rent one. By your reaction he's probably not the most responsible cousin in your family. My Dad let me "borrow" his Sig 226 when I was 16 that I kept in my bedroom in a gun safe.

I can't say I would never loan a gun to "Anyone" because if my kids are responsible adults meaning 18 or older I'd probably lend them a few guns. However, I will have to have no doubt in my mind that they understand safety, laws, and everything about them first. They're only 4 and 3 years old now, so it'll be awhile

Hell no. Simply Hell no. I would trust my father and uncle (I use theirs and they use mine, and are both very experienced in the gun world) and thats about it. If he wants to go with you next time sure, as long as he's chipping in on ammo and he listens to the rules. If you let him borrow and something goes wrong it can and will land you in the hot seat.

I would let my dad and maybe my brother borrow my guns without me being there. Defiantly not letting a goober borrow them; well, maybe if I had a glock. The rest of my guns are too nice.

I let my buddy borrow two Ruger 10-22's because he wanted to take his entire family to Project Appleseed, and he was running thin on rifles (he needed five).
Joe is aces as a man (and one of the more deadly IDPA shooters I've ever seen), so it was no problem with me, but I did have him sign a receipt that they were in his possession, just for legal reasons.

I let another friend use my G17 and all neccessary gear for a Defensive Handgun class. Ron is another class-act man, so it was not an issue with me either.

Good point Alan (post below), neither Joe or Ron asked, I offered.

My rule: Never loan cars, tools or guns. Actually, there are a couple people I would trust all those things with, but they would never ask!

AND he wants you to provide ammo? Time for him to buy his own guns and ammo. I might let a 21 year old use my firearms... if I was right there and they were paying for quality ammo.

I'd tell him he's out of luck.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

I would loan my dad one of my guns, but that's the end of the list(and he wouldn't ask to borrow one, he has his own).
