Goddamn You, UPS!!!!!!!

well I use USPS for 99% of all my sales with so far only (1) package arriving empty (a grip pod). I have shipped $2k+ rifles with both UPS and USPS so far without any incident.
hope I didnt jinx myself though ive read horror stories when individuals are trying to claim insurance on lost, damaged or incomplete packages from all 3 shippers .

Yeah, I had had such good luck before and knew the drivers, even worked at one of the local UPS Stores as a teenager, so I guess the Law of Averages is just evening out for me...

The best part was the tracking information. After a couple days of no updates while it was at my local hub(San Pablo) the information updated. It said "package found opened with all contents missing."

It was everything minus the stripped lower receiver. A complete rifle kit + accessories. I called the company and they shipped out another kit and said they'd take care of it.

My tracking info was normal, so I have a feeling it was opened, emptied, resealed while sorting in San Pablo or IL. I have half a mind to go to San Pablo and raise hell, but it's not worth it. I'm just hoping my replacement ammo doesn't get picked too.

Sorry about your box, man. That sucks. Some people may disagree with me, but USPS service has been excellent in comparison to UPS or FedEx ground/home service...in my area at least. I usually request it if possible. Cheaper, faster, more reliable. I'm not a spokesperson for the US postal service but I recommend giving them a try on your next order. I've been very pleasantly surprised.

You win. Lol. How did it get resolved? I wonder how much effort UPS even puts in/into lip service in tracking things like ammunition and firearms down. It's really unnerving and discouraging.

I had an old room mate who worked at a UPS facility. A couple lap-tops made it home and being in the line of work I'm in the flags went up. Then a few days later he comes home with a write up about him wearing a ball cap inside of the facility. I should of kept my mouth shut but I told him the reason for the write up is because they can't confirm his face from the camera angles in the facility. I gave him fair warning that his ***** was on the radar screen. His next haul involved him cleaning up at a few Home Depots and I went out to the garage to do my laundry and was amazed at all this new stuff he had brought home. He bragged to me how he just loaded up carts and wheeled them all out of the commercial side of the store. At this point guilt by association started to eat at me and we had an altercation and he called the PD because frankly he couldn't defend himself against me armed with his tazer. When the cops showed up I opened the garage and pointed at the street sign he stole off the corner that was laying on his pile of stolen Home Depot goods. So, why PD was tied up with that I loaded my belongings and left for good. He lost his job at UPS. Then tried to sue me in small claims court for rent. He lost again! lol

See, I thought USPS couldn't ship ammo... Grafs and FedEx were low-key and there were only 2 stickers on it. Madre said the box was covered in stickers telling anyone within 500ft that it was full of .45...

The guys I would talk to at the local hub would nip that in the bud, street justice style, because losses assumed to happen at the hub cut into bonuses. People took their money seriously. I hope Karma kicks this guys ***, whoever it is...

????? UPS has better tracking systems than fedex and usps. from the moment the packages being shipped to the time it's delivered, everything is tracked to the minutes. How did they steal your AR?

It was in a box. They opened the box and stole the entire contents of the box. They found the empty box at the facility. That's all I know.

This was very common during the first Christmas that XBOX 360s and PS3s shipped out in. The store I worked at was swamped with calls; "It says it is in ___Hub_Name___ for the last XXhours, why is it still there?!?!?!" Pretty pathetic...

I'd lost item shipped from Canada through local USPS, box was empty and my Omega's watch was gone. Luckily my vender took care of it and refunds all my money. It was a big ticket item.
After that bought another watch from them and choose diff. carrier.

Brown will let you down!

Broken packages, stuff missing, happens frequently with brown. Stuff hapeens with Fedex and USPS too, but brown is a least 4X worse IMO.

Actually, that's a good question. I've never shipped ammo USPS, but I have shipped bullets, shells and other reloading stuff without an issue. No powder or primers though because of the hazmat fees, but I think that applies across all the shippers.

The really sad part of all this is that someone ends up paying for the loss, and the rules of economics say that those costs will eventually be passed on to the consumer.

I've also had problems with UPS, and will ship any other way that's possible.

I went through LuckyGunner.com; I would have chosen FedEx, but their closest hub is in Vacaville and I'm in the Napa area. I was planning on having to sign for the package and have to go to the hub to sign for/pick up the package, so I spent an extra $20 on UPS because they have a hub in Napa and is much closer. Had I known the package would have just been left on my doorstep, I would have saved the money on the difference between FedEx/UPS and got one more box of ammo...

That's odd, I work at the Sacramento station and we service Vacaville. The main hub in norcal is in Oakland.

That's funny... my UPS here has pretty much been a gift from Baby Jesus compared to my local Fedex and USPS. UPS is the furthest from my house, but the delivery guy is the only one who seems to care about doing his job right.

The Fedex guy once locked me in my house by stacking several boxes between my door and a pillar on my front step, then banging on the door and driving away.
