I recently shipped a bow and to insure that it arrived in decent condition, or arrived AT ALL for that matter, I built a wooden box and secured it with long screws.Things usually turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out.

Don't worry. I get stuff mailed to me all the time from UPS, Fedex, and USPS. Only 1 out of hundreds has even been stolen. But eventually I will be targeted again. I pretty much don't buy ANYTHING locally. I prefer to buy it on amazon cause its always cheaper and I don't pay for tax or shipping. For instance I needed new windshield wipers. Went to kragen and the cheapest ones I could get would cost me about 45 out the door. The same ones on amazon were 18 bucks free 2 day shipping and no tax.Comment

Its not just a FedEx issue. I had the same problem with UPS on an order from Eastbay.Last year I ordered a couple of Nike Jordan's from EastBay.com shipped through FedEx, the order almost came out to $300. So I had been waiting for them and tracking this FedEx package every day and it was around 3:00pm when I decided to check once more. I almost fell out of my chair when I saw on their website "package delivered on front door step @ 2:00pm". I called FedEx and they said that since it was standard shipping there was nothing they could do for me. I was disgusted with their lack of service so I immediately hopped in my car and drove around the block looking for a box on someones door step with no avail. I called EastBay and they said they would take care of it without making a fuss, I assume they must encounter this problem frequently. Anyhow I let them know how much I appreciated their quality of service, and I've since learned to only deal with reputable sites.LetsGoBrandon

Hmm, actually thinking about the last UPS delivery I've gotten:
I ordered an hd tv online and it came from NY. LG or Adorama packed it very well and UPS didn't kick it around haha nothing came broken. Only thing I didn't like is that they delivered it at night while this lady from the bank visiting my parents was at the door about to come in and they had her sign for it hahah. Wish he asked if she lived there or not. Here's hoping that my firearm will make it fine from Kentucky to Anaheim!R.I.P. I ordered a dozen boxes of 16 gauge shotgun shells from Bass Pro last year, Two came in a small box while the balance they shipped in the case of 10 box Remington ships them in. Both boxes arrived in perfect condition. I guess you have to order not so popular calibers in order to get your ammo.Comment

Not really. Sh--bags pertains to all. Just because they have a job dosn't mean they're good folks. How would anyone explain how a package nearly fully taped up end, end up crushed-ripped open-boot footprint stamped onto the box. Even a blind person can see that there's somthing wrong with the package. Have you seen Ace Ventura pet detective? Remember in the beginning how Ace pretended to be a browny delivery guy and how the package he was delivering ended up as it did?"Screw U guys, I'm going home"...:the great Eric Cartman

Many years ago I got a carton of Egyptian 8mm ammo from Century via UPS. The corner of the carton was open and the carton was leaking ammo as the driver carried it up to the house. I found several rounds on the sidewalk. It was short about 20 rounds or so. Looked like it had been dropped and split open. I wondered where the rest of the missing ammo had gone...Comment

Could be. But whatever online ammo seller that ships customer packages that has any kind of indication of what's inside i.e. 45acp ammo pistol ammo firearm fragile. Those online companies need to sharpen a long stick-put it in the arse hole and sit down."Screw U guys, I'm going home"...:the great Eric Cartman

It's likely that UPS just had the box break open and that was all that was left of it. I've seen all sorts of boxes break open at UPS and they just slap more tape on the broken box or even re-box them. I'm a former UPS warehouse employee so this is fact. They also do not make any records of this when they do it like the US Postal Service does. For the most part UPS is great, but they also SUCK!Comment

Security door.. got it. I have one.
Never a problem with UPS I think a lot of these stories are urban myths.
All my guns coming from gunsmiths etc. get shipped USPS signed, certified, receipt. I have to go there and sign for them.http://i1150.photobucket.com/albums/...0fa5fefab1.jpghttp://i1150.photobucket.com/albums/...Untitled-2.jpghttp://i1150.photobucket.com/albums/...tar76148_1.jpg

^^^^^ That made me laugh so hard !!!!!
I opened this thread because I am awaiting some mags from ups that are a few days late (I suspect the snowstorm back east) so I feel your pain bud. But, If my box showed up with 1/10 of the contents I would be very mad as well.
Hope it all works out.Comment
