You'll find that's the case with most things. People hate icons and interpretations of people. However when meeting people, you'll usually find a closer picture of the truth.

That being said, I still hate you Jay, you embarrass all us Asians j/k

Just watched the latest episode. That dude Daryl seems like a douche, just like the guy who hated on Kelly in the first season. I understand the producers stirring up drama, and editing for that effect, but outward and open "douchebaggery" cannot be faked.

On the other hand, I like Jay. He seems like a nice guy, and I think the controlling aspects Daryl doesn't like come from either a genuine desire to help his teammates, or his job as a golf instructor. I was blown away in this episode's elimination challenge, and I can't wait to hear how Daryl tries to redeem his idiotic decision. If you think about it, by breaking with the team's decision, he became exactly what he despised in Jay, only worse. Fail.

All in all, this should be a good season. I'm just glad the sport has started entering the mainstream with these kinds of shows. Also, even better that there are 4 Californians, and that some of them are now on CGN. If they read this, way to go guys, I'm excited to see how this plays out!

Yeah - I too just watched the latest episode, and Jermaine's inexplicable brain fart essentially costing his team the challenge. When I saw the first episode, I thought Jermaine would be in the Final Three for sure, and possibly win the whole shebang. The dude just fricken LOOKS the part. Jay, OTOH, is like the polar opposite.

When Jermaine was practicing for the elimination challenge, it was like watching Kobe practicing free throws - like something he could do in his sleep. Jay looked, ny comparison, like a junior high kid throwing granny balls at the hoop. Jay winning the challenge was a gigantic upset, IMO, but the fact that their actual hit scores were that close (6 to 7) makes me wonder about something...

Just how much of this competition is genuine and how much is scripted for the benefit of viewers and drama? Based on the footage of their respective training sessions and reaction of the instructor to both Jermaine "he looked dominant with the pistol!" versus Jay "he was using a Barney Fife technique" - you would have thought it would be a slaughter. Me thinks they play up the abilities of some contestants while deliberately downplaying the ability of others.

Also, Darryl picking Jay was douchebaggery at it's finest. Again, not sure if scripted or not - and at the end of the day it is a competition between INDIVIDUALS, not teams, so maybe Darryl was looking to eliminate Jay as a competitior. Still, it's eminently clear that Darryl dislikes Jay on a personal level, which goes far beyond his annoying tendencies. Again - is Jay's behavior - such as feeling the need to "correct" his teammates when they're on the practice range - scripted or not? I find it hard to believe that a person who admitted that his first pistol was bought less than a year ago would have either enough chutzpah or lack of social awareness to feel like he could "correct" people who have been shooting tens of thousands of rounds a year for a long, long time. It would be like someone who has played only miniature golf coming onto his golf course and correcting a bunch of tour pros.
