I seriously do not feel safe outside of my car pretty much anywhere in any of the cities.
It is mostly agricultural (virtually slave labor), with some commercial support for the military installations and tourists going to and from Ocotillo and Glamis.

It's rural, but it is also extremely poor.

Dangerous cities, and mostly rural so long LE response times: sounds like the perfect combination for law-abiding residents to need CCWs.

Now you need is to organize to elect a pro-CCW sheriff. The deadline for applicants is a few weeks away and the election is early June.

Imperial county... wow yeah you'd think it would be a prime CCW country but it's in all regards a liberal chithole. It's some rough country, probably the crummiest area in California by most people's measure.

We did not get that by pretending it was ok for our rights to be violated . Hopefully California will one day enjoy the freedom other states do and I see from some of your posts you are making some progress .

Again I'm not Dude and I never said California did not "allow" some residents cc, as a matter of fact I'm the original poster and it was not even about California laws it was about another state (Ark.) becoming more gun/ CCW friendly . CSACAN could have said "good I wish we were winning the battle against anti gun nuts " but instead said NewsFlash" like it wasn't a big deal and Cali was pretty lenient also . The glimmer of hope is most people responding here gets my point and is not a CSACAN groupee and are intelegent enough not to call people Dude . California gun laws suck and will until people like you and CS realize it . You sir are part of the problem ,complacency is acceptenc .

Duddette, we're not complacent. We just know when to fight and when not to.

Right now, we're fighting in San Diego County, which alone has a greater population than the entire state of Arkansas! Sheriff Gore, over the past several months, has gone from extremely restrictively issuing CCWs to more reasonably issuing them. Does he accept self defense as Good Cause? No. Does he accept nominal Good Cause? We can't say yet, but LOTS of folks are reporting back that they are getting issued.

And you can't blame the many CGNers who've been beaten into submission after years or even decades of fighting for their rights without much to show for it. Hopefully, if Trump gets to put 2 or more justices on SCOTUS we in CA and the other 7 May Issue states will have something significant to cheer about.

Duddett? Really ? I did not start offending arguing or criticizing anyone , CS was being childish and insulting and stated people of good morals could get CCW and then went on to say I lacked training and probably shouldn't be allowed to carry and now you are taking up for the Nancy / Biden sounding jerk and insulting the one on your side !!! I know it's not everyone in California who wants rediculas gun laws but seriously go back and read from the beginning of the posts.

Wait, I have groupies? I don't think so. Anyway, again, I will continue to say that based on the title of the thread, there isn't any "news flash". While I used one example, California, to make my point, the fact is that in almost every or possibly in every state that issues CCWs, the CCW allows people to carry in otherwise restricted areas like certain GFZs. No "extra training" is required to CCW in many GFZs as long as you have a valid CCW which is recognized by the state you are in at the time. I sure don't see ehaving to take a secondary class to carry in more places a good thing. It's good that AR is finally doing something to help CCWers but, they could have easily done a lot more by simply changing their state laws/CCW policies and not requiring one to spend additional time and money to carry in a few extra GFS.

I do enjoy a good debate but this is a pig pen wrestling match and I refuse to wrestle with pigs so you and your kind go ahead and have the last word and remove any doubt anyone might have that you are condescending and obnoxious idiots too stupid to have a thought of your own . I apologise for not knowing that California res can carry in the state capital and bars with out any extra training which is what Ark is requiring , thanks for clearing that up .As far as news flash I'm pretty sure that was your words not mine . Also thanks for pointing out that most states already allow CCW to carry in their state capital and bars as after all that is the gfz Ark is issuing permits for .I guess you are right ,I do need to learn more about CCW and should be thankful you straightened me out .

There are some facts being presented here, that may well be technically true, but are not in reality true. Riverside going green?
As far as I know, per personal knowledge of recent family permit application, the sheriff advertises that he is very gun friendly and that 90%+ of the applicants get a permit. But if you call down there and talk to the 1 deputy that handles all the ccw's, he will set up a appointment that is 1-2 yrs down the road, at which time most people give up. Then there is a very restrictive process that may very well take another year or more.
I made a brief internet search to find a list of permits issued by county, and I couldn't find anything current. Anyone help here?
I think this would be the best info to actually see who issues.
A lot of sheriffs also play numbers games. Increased number of permits by 50%, etc.? So he went from 2 to 3?
In reality, most Californians cannot get a ccw where they currently live. I think LA county has less than 1,000 permits for a population of about 4 million.
San Diego probably has about the same percentage.
                                SLO? Not too many.
