I don't even know what FUD means, but I agree.."It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.
CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ QuietComment

Say what? Why is a CHP officer going to run the serial # of my weapon while I'm at the range?
Some magical probable cause? Not likely.
And even if he did all it will give him is that it is registered to me and the caliber on the registration matches the caliber of the weapon. And that they are listed on my permit.
My father was CHP, believe it nor not they do not have magical powers.
And even if they did check a legally owner and registered weapon and saw that it was acquired by SSE, who cares. SSE was not a crime. Neither is changing calibers by changing barrels.Only slaves don't need guns

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

I see cops shooting at OnTarget time to time.Exactly and why would they wander the firing line checking everyone firearms.
Plus if I was on a range where the CHP was shooting I'd not be bringing anything that looked suspect, like my hi Caps I've owned since 1970.
Why? Cuz I think CHP shoots on their own range not public ranges, at least I've never seen them on public ranges
So, it's unlikely a SSE gun, thenComment

CHP, SSE, ETC.
Thank you all,
I do appreciate knowing that your opinion of the story I received was B.S., as I expected, but enlisted the CalGuns group for confirmation. I did receive an accurate (although it takes a bit of filtering to find it) answer.
I also appreciate the satirical comedy.
In my own defense, I've seen California do some pretty crazy things in the last 50 years so nothing is really a surprise.
Thanks again, stay safe.

Shill failure.
Implication, disguised "warnings", LGS are often bad by lobbing extreme tall tales of ANY LGS stating something like this at this late advent of SSE and 80% builds ubiquitousness is quite weak, and uses phrases like:
I don't know... let me go ask the "high profile chicks".

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?Comment
