You blew right past the point. I am talking to an officer, how do they know its SSE? I know they can run the numbers but you said "And my point wasn't that this is happening, my point was that the CHP can simply and readily identify SSE pistols if they want to, when they come in contact with pistols. Let's acknowledge that simple truth, and we can get back refuting or confirming the story line in the orginal post." How are they doing that by looking at it? They will run its numbers and it will come back as simi 380...

An officer cannot tell simply by looking at the weapon. Even if it is a non-rostered weapon, it may have been lawfully acquired by an exempt person, personally imported from out-of-state, or acquired via PPT.

If the weapon were properly DROS'd as a single-shot, then it will appear in AFS as such.

If an officer were to run an AFS check on the weapon's serial numbers and it returned to the subject, and was a single-shot when transferred, and was a semi-auto when viewed, the officer could reasonable conclude that it was an SSE weapon.
