EOTech Recall

It's my understanding that the thermal drift problem in inherent in the design and technology being used and correcting it would require a complete redesign. Has to do with the interaction of the laser diode, the sight window and the metal frame around it and different levels of expansion/contraction under temperature extremes.

Tried to find the article I read explaining this, but can't. You'll just have to take the word of some random guy on the interwebs.

Well, after reading several pages here, it is somewhat comforting to learn I am not the only person still waiting for that elusive refund check. I got the OK and mailed off my EOTech with a USPS tracking number on it. The item arrived December 29th 2015, and EOTech acknowledged it arrived January 6 2016. OK, it was Christmas, I'll give them that. On one email Mr. Kroll said my refund would be mailed out in two weeks. That was five weeks ago. My check better be one of those "claimed" to have mailed Friday 3/11/16 or I start looking for the class action lawsuit blogs. L-3 is a very reputable company but this "service" is making them look bad.

1/31/16: Refund request submitted for $1772.00 (exps3-0, g33, 512.a65)
2/8/16: Refund request approved
2/8/16: Package shipped insured for $2000 via USPS priority 2 day shipping
2/10/16: Package delivered to Eotech
2/17/16: Called Eotech and they are unable to give me a status and asked me to call back if i did not see a check in a few weeks.
2/18/16: Called Eotech again and got the same exact word for word response.
3/09/16: Called today and was told that since they have no update and it ha been over 30 days to email Michael.kroll@l-3com.com for status update. I emailed Michael and was told my request was not in their system and he asked for a copy of my approval email. I sent it to him and am currently waiting for an update. This has become quite nerve racking

Oh great, not what I wanted to hear. I'm not dying from not getting the check, and I already got a new MRO to replace the EOTech. I'm gonna be pissed if this becomes a 3 or 4 month ordeal.

That is my feeling too.

If you waited until folks started getting notified that their checks were coming, or even worst, until they got their checks, you're going to be well behind the flood that they are receiving.

Plus you have to remember that they have contracted out, due to the volume, the disbursement of refunds. So now there is a longer lag between inspection of the item and the approval to send the checks

3/13/16: I emailed Mr. Kroll back and forth with the information he needed. I gave him a copy of my approval email. He then told me the issue with my specific delay is that I was approved for the g33 magnifier when I shouldn't. He then asked me for my tracking number of the products I sent back. Once he had the tracking, he stated he would honor the approval and push forward the refund request. He states I should have my check in he first week of April.

12-28-15: Filled out the online RMA form.
12-30-15: Got my RMA request form EOTech.
01-02-16: Mailed my EOTech back.
01-07-16: EOTech received the packaged.
01-15-16: Received email from EOTech refund is being issued.

EOTech received my package on 1/15/16 and I never received any correspondences after that. I called yesterday and was told my check was mailed out Friday 3/11/16.
