Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace. -- James Madison
The Constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms. -- Samuel Adams, Debates and Proceedings in the Convention of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, 86-87 (Pearce and Hale, eds., Boston, 1850)Comment

Over 2 years on my M4s and still going.
My wife's Eotech 512 has died twice already in the same amount of time. I'm sending it back and either getting the MRO or the new H2 for her. I just got a new T2 for a new build and I'm leaving it on to see how long it will go.

Try reading that again and have another go at your comment. The teens are between -40 and 122F.Last edited by zerodameaon; 12-23-2015, 10:05 PM.Comment

Their sight states there can be a minor shift if the sight was zero' day 70 then shot at 50. So basically if you sighted your sight in the summer you will miss your target in the winter. It's only a $500 sight who cares about accuracy I'm no operator.Comment

Mine all had reticle fading around the edges of the glass, and one had fading bands IN the glass.
All 4 went back yesterday. My 512 already went in once for service- I'm guessing all of them have issues with a coating or lamination within the glass failing from the outside in.
Two of mine had production dates of 07/08- accepted with no issues.
I have an ancient Aimpoint M2 which works 100% still. No excuse for failing optics.

I am all for returning it as well, it does not do what is advertised and a 80% drift is nuts even for those not getting shot at. Anyways my thing was to tell this guy:
that California temps most definitely fall between -40F and 122F, the area where the sights have issues. I don't know if it has issues outside that range as well but those were what L3 was talking about in the recall.Last edited by zerodameaon; 12-24-2015, 9:28 AM.Comment

1. Thermal drift which causes shifts up to +- 4MOA
2. Optical distortion which causes shifts up to 20MOA
3. Moisture seal leak which causes reticle dimming
According to that settlement doc, EOTech currently has or has already developed a fix for #2 circa 2008 and #3 circa 2013. #1 is a design defect that does not have a fix.Comment

Check out the EoTech website. They specifically say there can be a minor shift if the sight is zero'D at 70 then shot at 50. Even So Cal has temps that range from over a 100 to 30 at night. I was at burro yesterday and it was 48. My EoTech was off zero. Coincidence?Comment
