    ^^^ 2nd that.

Glad to hear the OP got what was due to him. However, this matter should have been resolved at the time of his original pick up. In fact, there was no matter and if any doubts it should have been handled and resolved by the store manager in a courteous way. Managers are there to avoid fiascos like this one and they should be smart, savy, and enabled enough to do so.

I don't think a sporting goods outfit with EIGHTEEN locations throughout Southern California would buckle in this case because of the ranting of a few dozen disgruntled non-customers. I think they accommodated the OP because he appears to be a reasonable person - far and away the most reasonable voice in this thread.
The first time Turner's offers .22 LR for 19 bucks a box every single one of you "I hate Turner's" guys will be lined up out of the store for a city block.
And then you'll hate them even more because they couldn't sell it to you fast enough.

^^^^ Yep, if the OP had started a thread titled "Turners does the right thing" or "Turners took good care of me" and so on. Everyone would be circle jerkin about what a good company Turners is. Instead, they tried to burn the dude. My assumption is that they were told by their legal representation that the receipt was binding, and they must give him the merchandise that belongs to him.

I buy lots of firearms every year. I always check the Turners sales ads every week. Though I haven't bought from them in quite a while, even though their prices are usually better. If the OP's thread had stated how great they are, and how they "ate" their mistakes. It might have pushed me over the edge into dealing with them again. The fact that they even tried to refute the purchase, shows me they're not the type of company I want to give my hard earned green money to.

Also, in the Turners thread, they stated how the matter was between them and the OP, and don't want anyone else involved. This alone, tells me they would have put the screws to him if this wasn't brought into the light of day. They really botched the handling of this. Over a measly 300 bucks, they cost their company many thousands. Way to go Turners!!!

How do you figure this last part? Wasn't it a matter between the OP and them? They didn't involve anyone else so what was stopping them from "putting the screws to" him? It's not like they made the conversation public.

You also stated that you don't shop at Turners but just look at their prices. So exactly how much have they lost from you if you haven't been patronizing their stores?

I'm not going to argue with you pal, I'm not a little broad that gets my jollies making somebody feel wrong. If you enjoy frequenting Turners, by all means, keep doing so. I posted how I felt about the situation, take it or leave it.

More like they called their lawyers and were told to give him his property. They had no legal ground to stand on.

They tried to strong arm him to pay or return. When that didn't work they had no other choice. A paid in full receipt and a finished dros made the op the legal owner of the property.

No more talking, straight to small claims court . You receipt showing paid in full, also counter sue for time loss from work to do this.

For those not reading the full thread, Turners has already agreed to give him the guns for the price he paid.

I'm glad Turners came around and decided to do the right thing, even if it took their lawyers, the Calguns threads or whatever else to finally make them do it. Still a little bit surprised that they seemed to struggle with the decision as much as they did, but as has been mentioned above it is the result that counts. So assuming they follow through and OP gets his guns at the price he agreed to pay I rescind my previous comment and will continue to consider Turners for future firearms purchases.

Glad it all worked out for you OP, but it should have never happened in the first place.

I have bought 25+ guns from Turners over the years from 8 of their stores. Just yesterday I picked up a rifle from Corona and a pistol from Orange. In my opinion the Corona store is the best in the chain but all of the stores are run differently. I found that in the Corona store they are straight forward, they staff the gun counter properly and don’t have any of the "gun shop" attitude. This is the exact opposite of what I found in Orange where the BS extends from the gun counter to the cashier.
My problem is that I live in OC and its tough getting to Corona for every purchase.

                          ^^^^This would be interesting.

Let's say someone started a poll, to find out how many sales Turners lost last year, due to people buying guns from other LGS because they won't shop at Turners. Might be educational for Turners also

                            YEAH, boycott Turners!!!
We have so many gun stores in California what do we need Turners for??
In the Valley we have Gun World and Guns Direct. Oh wait, everyone here cries about them also. Boycott them too!!!!

For people that are unable to figure my post out like "The Gleam" this is SARCASM

Sarcasm is "a sharp, bitter, or cutting expression or remark; a bitter gibe or taunt."[1][2] Sarcasm may employ ambivalence,[3] although sarcasm is not necessarily ironic.[4] "The distinctive quality of sarcasm is present in the spoken word and manifested chiefly by vocal inflections".[5] The sarcastic content of a statement will be dependent upon the context in which it appears
