Um, it's "too".
And you must be very limited, because I can name about a dozen more gun stores in the San Fernando Valley from Pasadena to Simi, that are equal to or better than Turners. Gun World does suck - on many levels, and no, I've not heard much bad about Guns Direct nor in all my accounts of having personally bought several guns there.
Regardless, Turners and Gun World do a good job of losing business on their own without the need for a boycott. Especially Turners Reseda. I have bought guns at both in the past, luckily to never experience issues from either - because of how I guided the situation. Yet I have seen first-hand accounts in person of where each (and more than one of the Turners' locations) were constructing a complete fustercluck screw-job for the buyer unnecessarily, having nothing to do with following the law, and quite often due to bad customer service or irrational FUD beyond logic that was NOT the law.
So, simply avoiding them and shopping elsewhere due to their own bad customer service is not a "boycott". I don't give a wit about paying $10 to $50 more for the same gun at another gun dealer if I know the service, paperwork, DROS, and handling of the gun will go through without a hitch caused by ignorance or inexperience of the employee. That's about the most that Turners' prices ever best another store anyway and I can afford the difference to get better, qualitative and knowledgeable service.
In order to go full-on boycott, a store would have to do something extremely Anti-2nd Amendment, not just something in the nature of complying with California's ridiculous laws even if it's FUD driven; they would have to go out of their way to support a move or measure that is wholly against the fabric of the 2nd Amendment, or support an organization, business, or movement that is chomping at the bit to take advantage of Anti-2nd Amendment maneuvers and NOT be apologetic for it:
Like Oak Tree Gun Club.-----------------------------------------------

Sarcasm is "a sharp, bitter, or cutting expression or remark; a bitter gibe or taunt."[1][2] Sarcasm may employ ambivalence,[3] although sarcasm is not necessarily ironic.[4] "The distinctive quality of sarcasm is present in the spoken word and manifested chiefly by vocal inflections".[5] The sarcastic content of a statement will be dependent upon the context in which it appears
I am actually leaving for Turners Outdoorsman in Reseda in about 5 minutes

Not seeing what you are trying to get at. The original OP/Turner's conversation in the store went "screw you" and they were indeed "putting the screws to him" with nothing to stop them.
Not until that conversation was made public by the OP in these threads did Turner's realize there WAS indeed something to stop them and it was not only the bad publicity and lost sales documented in the threads but also once people started urging the OP to take Turner's to small claims court, their company lawyer in all probability told them they needed to step up fast because they were going to LOSE that battle.
THAT is what made Turner's come around and do what they should have done from the beginning, NOT some do-gooder attitude within the company.Comment

No, it's called lack of reading comprehension on your part. I got your point, but your lob is misguided in knocking people for NOT wanting to waste their time at Turners' - not through your weak attempt at jigging sarcasm to convey your mundane thoughts while expressing your ignorance as to what the word "boycott" actually means, but because Turners' customer service plain sucks.
One is not "boycotting" Turners' merely because they are not also a masochistic pervert which enjoys being subjected to ridiculous stunts and inexcusable errors. Avoiding that doesn't mean you are boycotting them or any other gun stores - just that one does not need to put up with habitual incompetence and ignorance.
Good service and capability is not something that Turners' can deliver on a regular basis without fail, no different than any particular Les Baer they may not have in stock but that I can buy at another gun store. Their frequency of bad services is much higher than most any other gun store. If I choose to buy that Les Baer somewhere else rather than wait until Turners gets it in (never) or order it through them, am I boycotting Turners? No. They just don't have something in stock nor keep it as a part of their regular inventory.
Just like good customer service; they NEVER have it in stock, nor do they keep it as a part of their regular inventory, and it's not something you can order.
What I posted essentially backs that there is no need to boycott Turners'. They have ushered pushing away customers to OTHER gun stores quite well on their own performance (or lack thereof).-----------------------------------------------

OP here, I've again updated my original post. It has been confirmed, Turners will release the ISSC to me at no additional cost from me.
Thank you everyone here for the overwhelming support!Comment

Glad this was taken care of. I, for one, will continue to shop there.Comment

I have criticized Turner's many times, and i think as consumers, we should let a store know when we feel we have been treated poorly. Otherwise how will the store know they need to fix something? With that said, just as many here were willing to take business away from Turner's for this issue, I believe we should be willing to give them business for eventually doing the right thing. Not to reward them, but to help them absorb the loss on this deal. If you were planning on buying something anyway, why not get it from Turner's to help them make up the cost of doing the right thing?Comment

I'm glad it worked out for you OP.sigpicComment

The overwhelming support is due to the fact that you are not the only one who was mistreated, wronged, or received less than poor customer service at Turners.
We hear about a very small percentage of them. This kind of stuff happens at Turners all the time.
It is good to hear that finally Turners made it right for you.

I know this is over but I disagree a bit with most that have posted . Yes the receipt is binding but at the same time . If an employee makes a mistake like that the store does not have to comply . Lets say a car salesman sells a 1 million dollar car for one penny . The dealership does not have to give up that car $.01 and will win in court . Why ?? Because that employee does not have the authority to change prices , period .
If this went to court Turners would have won IMHO . They had fliers all over the place stating the cost . I remember the email I got stating that very deal . The employee just rang it up wrong that's all , there was no attempt to deceive . All they were legally obligated to do was return all his money because of the mistake . They did not have to honor the sale . They made a smart business decision here . Why spend a few thousand dollars on court cost to save the $200 they are likely loosing on the sale . This was just easy math for them and maybe they look honorable at the same time .Last edited by Metal God; 03-23-2015, 6:38 PM.Tolerate
allow the existence, occurrence, or practice of (something that one does not necessarily like or agree with) without interference.
Anyone else find it sad that those who preach tolerance CAN'T allow the existence, occurrence, or practice of (something that they do not necessarily like or agree with) without interference.
I write almost everything in a jovial manner regardless of content . If that's not how you took it please try again
