i had to backorder the ammo i order because they had no idea when they'd get something in stock

I have emailed them and they did email back. They have no stock and no hopes of getting any as far as I could tell from their reply.

Yes sir .22 lr ammo is on top of my to buy list with my gun money, and I will continue buying all I can until Jul 1 2015 when online mail order sales end in CA.

My goal is to get at least two bricks or 1000 rounds a week(or more), if I do this I will have close to 100,000 rounds of .22 lr by Jul 1 2015.

I shoot about 500 rounds of .22 a month at that rate I will not have to buy more ammo for a long time.

That's nice healthy goal. You shouldn't have a problem reaching it the rate these deals are popping up. I don't need to hear anyone talk about a 100k goal - I already upped mine a few times and it is not near that YET.

Did they charge you for the backordered items? Meaning an actual charge showing up on your monthly statement instead of a temporary authorization hold.

yes they did charge me and it got deducted from my account

Thats definitely the smart thing to do. I am not at all a fan of companies that take your money before they ship - especially if backordered. They are using your cash as float for their company.

One nice thing about buying cases (5,000 rounds) is that they're actually pretty compact and you can ditch them around the house - every closet should have a case or two lurking somewhere. Some day...

Ooooh man you guys are making me double think stuff. I'm already 30% past my ammo goal for 22lr and was only going to buy when there was a deal too good to pass up specially on mini mags. Summer's when I go through the most ammo. We've only gone through less than 3k rounds. Rest of the year we're lucky to go shoot once a month. I figured I was set for 22lr up to next summer and then some. Now I'm kind of iffy on how much I should stock.
