I might be an idiot. But I think once everyone fills their closets with 22 lr. And runs out of $. there's gonna be a huge surplus of cheep. Good quality ammo.Yes sir .22 lr ammo is on top of my to buy list with my gun money, and I will continue buying all I can until Jul 1 2015 when online mail order sales end in CA.
My goal is to get at least two bricks or 1000 rounds a week(or more), if I do this I will have close to 100,000 rounds of .22 lr by Jul 1 2015.
I shoot about 500 rounds of .22 a month at that rate I will not have to buy more ammo for a long time.----------------------------

Let's just say you're optimistic.
Everyone has their own comfort level on how much they want to buy and how much they are willing to spend. I seriously doubt that the people here are going to go bankrupt or compromise the well being of their families just to buy 22lr or any other ammo.
I used to be comfortable with half a brick or maybe no 22lr at all, with the mindset that I could always grab some Friday on my way home from work, or Saturday morning before we go shoot, at my local LGS or Walmart. That hasn't come close to reality yet and I don't see it coming anytime soon. I'm not going to wake up at some ungodly hour to play Walmart lotto or pay $50 for a brick of crappy 22lr.
Hey, I pray that you're right and everything you hope for comes true. Then I can just go to the store anytime of the day and grab anything I need to replace what I shoot. And if that doesn't happen anytime soon I'm covered for a "little" while still.

[QUOTE=crufflers;12146868]Well, that's the best price I could find, and shipping is Free .. kinda heavy item. The reviews are inspiring .. one guy even using it for non-lead Frangible 9mm. Recycling lead .. a good idea methinks .. 7,000 grains to the pound .. right?Layered cardboard!! RU kidding? Maybe time to upgrade
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0013R4DBQ/...410_item_image .. reviews have lots of mods
I think you're right. That looks like a nice trap for pellets.
My "backstop" was just a temporary way for me to test out a Steel Storm and a few other CO2 guns indoors and adjusting sights for eliminating pigeons. It served well for a few thousand test rounds - but starts to make a mess. A springer, piston, or colibris would have probably make it though and into my wall.
I'll order that trap if I decide to shoot more indoors.
Two box limit .. sucks .. but it is a listing .. lest I invite the ire of monsieur mono .. http://ammofast.com/products/eley-ta...vel-50-rnd-boxComment

That only happens when morons go into debt and then realize they can't cover it, especially when they were planning on flipping some/most/all of it and then suddenly can't. Hopefully we're talking about some kind of responsible buildup over the next year or so, and changing priorities. Perhaps somebody who was going to buy yet another redundant Glock will get a couple of cases of .22 instead.
Interestingly enough if people panic and buy too much just before the permits are required they won't be able to sell it in-state once the vending licenses are required. So don't expect to just be able to pick it up in the marketplace or something...Comment

Yeah....it's like the C&R restriction coming in 2014. Buy what you want now, because after Jan 1, FTF sales are illegal. I'm anticipating a rise in prices around Oct. when people start getting rid of what they don't really want, but want to take advantage of the impending doom. I don't have a problem with people selling ammo/ guns for what people will pay. I made some good speculative purchases on ammo a year or two ago and sold it off at a nice profit. However I also bought more of what I really wanted rather than just random brands. Its no different than amy other commodity. Those who bought gold at 1700/oz are hating it now. Those who bought at 400/oz are loving it. No ammo find....screw monoThat only happens when morons go into debt and then realize they can't cover it, especially when they were planning on flipping some/most/all of it and then suddenly can't. I also don't see how CA can limit interstate commerce. That's supposed to be the sole province of congress."I don't work for you!" - Joe Biden

Our current legislators will try anything to limit guns/ammo as they want total control of our lives to fit their agenda. They have little regard for constitutional law and will attempt to limit our freedoms to fit their views of a perfect socialist community. Only litigation and the public saying "enough is enough" and voting them out of office will stop their march down the path of a perfect world as they see it. Don't hold your breath here in California waiting for that to happen.
Proof of that is their recent passage of a law to tax sugared soft drinks to prevent childhood obesity. It won't prevent even one person from having a "Pepsi".
Back on topic, I buy all the target grade ammo I can find and will continue to do so if/until the ammo laws are enacted that prevent me from buying ammo online. I will have enough for me and my grandkids for their lifetime. Over reaction, probably but having been thru two ammo panics in the last five years I am hedging my bets. Just ordered another case of SK Std + this morning, $470+shipping.Last edited by Izzy43; 08-25-2013, 9:44 AM.Comment

Where have you been finding sk+ by the case? If you're willing to share of course....I have been on the notify list from Champion for four months....and haven't seen it anywhere else for under 5.00/bx. Last sk+ I bought was at 6.50/bx. Bought it cause I only had three bricks left."I don't work for you!" - Joe Biden
