I have quite a few plinkers I do have 7 of these, 3 model 60's, 8 10/22 and countless handguns. I am thinning the herd to get a new .30-06 Browning A-Bolt Stainless.

so my marlin 795's front sight was installed slanted to the right and even with tech sights adjusted to compensate for it, I was still shooting to the right. I sent it in to marlin through my gun store and it took over 2 months to get it back

I got my marlin back yesterday and it looks like I got a new barrel. The front sight is barely skewed to the right but hopefully it wont be an issue. Marlin even gave me a free magazine when I got my rifle back. Pretty cool

oh does anyone know how to remove the stock marlin rear sight?

EDIT: I called Marlin and they said to take a wood dowel and a hammer and tap the rear sight to the side to remove it. Does anyone have experience with that?

It should just be a [press fit to the barrel. I had to remove mine to scope it.

Ready to go out this weekend and break it in, and have some plinkin' fun!

On a side note, this is the dirtiest new rifle I have ever bought! The amount of metal shavings I cleaned out of it also worried me...

With a Simmons 22mag scope, bargain bi-pod, and a few extra magazines my total investment is still only in the neighborhood of $250!

Should allow me to reduce the shooting budget without reducing time at the range!

Thanks for the rear sight removal info, its gota go!

Rigma, That is looking about like mine...

Simmons .22 mag scope and inexspensive Bipod.

Im into mine about 225-230 range as I only have 3 clips total

The kids have been shooting it quite a bit, So far we(i like shooting it to) have run a box of federal bulk and a couple of boxes of winchester through it
and have had alot of fun

I need to save up some more $$ as I want a larger rifle now for some reason.
Thinking a .308 and a handgun in there somewhere too

If you want a bigger rifle pick yourself up a mosin and fire away. Cheap to buy and loads of fun for the whole family.
