Anyone know of a shop in SoCal that is known to stock the Marlin 70PSS? Also known as the Papoose. It's the same as the 795 but the barrel is removable. I want one to compliment my stainless model 60.

Any trigger upgrades/swaps?? I know there is the Rimfire Tech trigger guard, but that seems to use the OEM plastic trigger. Is there an aluminum trigger that would work in place of the stock one??

Im thinking of getting the RT trigger guard and figure I would up the trigger as well

          Thank you!

Yea, that was the trigger guard I saw, but pricey. I REALLY like the charging handle in the second link...wonder where I can find that puppy! Can't find it, must be an old after-market one from a 60?

The second link? That's the same handle on my 795 that is 2 months old.

Ditto...That is the same charging handle as mine as well. My 795 is only 2-3 months old.

Im looking to buy a soft case for my 795. It has a scope and bipod. Will this one fit it?

I had a scoped rifle case for it, but since I added the bipod, it didnt fit.

I found this thread when I was looking for Appleseed Shoot guns. I have a Ruger 1022 with an Archangel Stock w/ flip up sights and it is pretty accurate and looks like an AR. However, a few of years ago my brother-in-law wanted one of Marlins model 717M2 semi-auto 17M2 rifles. I found him one and what a tack driver it was. This past year now northern Minnesota, where I live, finally got an appleseed shoot and what a great thing the RWVA has going. So I tried to get my Bro-in-law's 17M2 from him but that was not to be. Marlin quit making these great little rifles and I could find one no where. I finally found one from a Gander Mountain employee that bought it when they where closing these rifles out and had hardly fired it. I put a BSA model 17 MACH II scope on it, it's calibrated to the 17M2 cartridge, and a ATI Fiberforce stock with an ATI comb extension, to raise the cheek weld so I could get a good sight picture. Wow! What a tack driver this turned out to be. I found that Remington, Federal, and Hornady 17 mach 2 ammo was good but did not get as tight of groups as I was accustomed to with my H&R heavy barrel single shot 17M2 was. I found that ELEY has the best and most consistent 17M2 ammo out there, and the best deal can be found at Ammo To Go; http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/catalo...ammo-17-mach-2. Can't wait until the next Appleseed shoot up here in the northwoods.

Hi MN, and welcome to Calguns!

Sounds like you've got a nice little rifle there! Post up a pic of it if you like. I have heard great things about them as well and the Appleseed shoots look like fun too. I'll have to check that out. I think we have one that is within a few hours drive of me as I have seen it advertised here before.

                    Take Care!

So I just saw this in the Commercial Section, might be a good time to get a 795 with this Big 5 $25 off Coupon and the $25 Rebate! And its at $159 in the Ad which means the stars are in alignment today

And the $25 Rebate, remember, the bar code is on the plastic bag!:

Damn, I might just get another one and throw it in the safe for that price!

Believe it or not, price on this gun seems to vary between stores as well. Checked 2 different Big 5 stores and found it $10 cheaper at the second.

Another option for coupons is to register on the Big 5 website for coupons. The second one I was emailed was 20% off any item (sale or regular price) and it did not have a firearms restriction.

Few more days before I can pick it up!

Downside is I ordered some magazines from cheaper then dirt and they seem to somehow have charged my card 3X.....what a hassle.

I am getting fed up with mine refusing to eject on FTF.

What ammo are you using? Mixing it up? Mine was flawless with a 333 box of Winchester, but I had a few jams on Remington Golden Bullet.

I use CCI Blazer, Minimags, Federal bulk, fiocchi, winchester bulk. Only had a couple of FTF's out of the winchester bulk.

I do suggest breaking the gun in with Minimags, as I did, and never had a FTF or FTE or any jam, that some mention they do when breaking it in.
