    I need a LIFE!!

I've tried making up a designer name for our pup....

She's 1/3 Siberian husky, 1/3 GSD and 1/3 Belgium Shepherd.. she's 60# at 9 months. I don't see her getting more then 70#. I was kind of hoping she wouldn't go over 50#.

    I've raised 3 Goldens...this pup isn't anything like what I'm used to..

Darn it....if I can get her to stop for just one second, I'll take a pic outside

That pup looks smart and growing. Einstein would be a good name.

I think the elk around Tehachapi are Rocky Mountain elk as well, coming off the Tejon Ranch. No hunting season on them from the DFW as they are "non-native" at this point, I believe. I have a friend who has bagged a huge elk and a huge bear on the Tejon. Big $$$, too.

I don't know what the hec I was thinking. We were in Tehachapi last year and I did all kind of reading about those elk. I knew Tejon had elk, just wasn't sure what flavor.

We saw a herd of Tule elk a few weeks ago coming home from Bridgeport. They must be stuck in my head.

Somewhere I have some pictures of elk on the beach in the Redwoods. I believe it was around Elk Pairie state park, fern canyon. I believe those are Roosevelt Elk.

Thanks! Your collection ain't so bad, either! And, I'm digging the blanket in your first photo. Very nice.

The one I pictured is a Winchester 92 made in 1913, chambered for 44-40.

I mounted a scout scope on my .44 Rossi M92. I wanted to mount it on my .45 Rossi, but it is an older Interarms import and it does not have the drilled and tapped holes under the rear sight. I just mounted a cheap scout scope (silver as that is what was on sale) to see how I liked it, having never tried one. It looks like it will work fine, though I will try a red dot as well.

Do you have to use oversized projectiles for your 44?

I had a beautiful Rossi 16" carbine in 44mag. IMO, their bluing is second to none. The one I had cycled everything. I couldn't hit a basketball at 25 years with it. I installed a scout scope, I still couldn't hit a basketball at 25 yards. I didn't reload at the time but I'm pretty sure the barrel was oversized.

My wife used to do Hospice care (after she lost a few kids that was enough for her) one of her patients daughters gave her 2 of them. Their one of the cheaper Pendleton blankets.

Bob, that's one hec of a collection you have there. I'm willing to bet it's just a fraction

Maybe we can meet up and do some shooting soon. If your anything like us 3 we won't do much shooting...other then shooting the bull.

I swear!! as many times as we've gone out, we still shoot the s#!t more then we shoot guns.

I haven't seriously shot this rifle much. I loaded some 200 gr RNFP coated bullets to about .44-40 level, but the semi-buckhorn sights and my old eyes were not a good match. I will have to see how it does with the scout scope set up. I still have a bunch of those loads. The rifle was one of the close-out specials from Big 5.

I am getting ready for a prairie dog trip in about 3 weeks, so I have to load up some .204 Ruger and .22-250 ammo and check the sights.

Whoa, prairie dogging huh? What's the 22-250 load? Sure liked mine when I had it. Have fun!
