That darn osteoarthritis in just about every joint in my body is the butt kicker for me.

I guess I don't have to tell you all that..

Man, Mark - here I was feeling sorry for myself with my sore belly after surgery on the 21st to fix a couple hernias in the incision from the prior surgery, and now you got me all concerned about you. Passing out with no warning or "reason" is darn scary. I hope it is nothing more serious, brother!

I hear you about the arthritis! Take it easy!

Brother, my little spill and complaining doesn't come close to what your dealing with.

I hope that I speak for all when I say that its good to see you here, healthy and offering up all of your knowledge. This tiny sub-forum shines above them all when it comes to knowledge (myself not included) just look at this one thread. Its probably the longest active thread here.

Okay, doc says it's time for another Norco

That darn osteoarthritis is just invading my whole body. 60 years of golf has taken a toll on my left side.

Mark did they check ya for dehydration? I'm sure they probably did but I know of three folks up here that went down like that and all three were dehydrated. Interestingly two were from drinking too much coffee. Quien sabe? Hope its as something as easy as that to fix.

Nichole was one of them and the ER Dr told her that one coffee wiped out six glasses of water!

Yeah brother, both the doc and wife (RN) said that could have been a contributor....I drink a lot of milk.

One of the nurses had a hard time finding a vein. I finally had to tell him to stop and move to the other arm.

It's been one hell of a week.

Wow! I hadn't heard that before. I drink maybe 3 cups of coffee in the morning and probably not enough water. Best change that. Thanks for that info HW.
Talking to Mark yesterday, it sounds like he's on the mend.

Good to hear Mark's on the mend.

Who, me? *looks nervously around* I have no idea what you're talking about.

                        /scoops more french roast

Good timing for your post, my good man. I've been trying to drink more water and have managed to increase my intake a lil' bit, then I forget and next thing I know it's 3 PM and I've already cornsumed over 24 ounces of my black dark roast. I like it rich, and dark roast does indeed contain less caffiene (from over-roasting the bean). But, still...

That *the ER Dr told her that one coffee wiped out six glasses of water* is incredible (and believable). Holy Toledo, I have some ad-justin' to do.

Dangit. I do love my java.

I drink an unhealthy amount of coffee but try to chase it with a whole lot more water than most folks drink.
Mark, no more passing out and/or head bonks.

Timely Subject Matter Considering the MLC's preferred locale

^ ^ ^ Hey Spyder! You snuck one in there...

How Much Water Should I Drink in a Day?

So how much fluid does the average, healthy adult living in a temperate climate need? The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is: About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men. About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women.

Water: How much should you drink every day? - Mayo Clinic
                            8 fluid ounces
                            1 cup = 8 fluid ounces
Or, if we use Ounces, then, 15.5 cups = 124 ounces per day.

I drink most of my H2O from cases of Arrowhead Spring Water in .5L (16.9 fl oz) bottles. Putting aside the above-mentioned ER doc's incredible info quoted by Dave, I should be putting away (round up the 3.7 liter recommendation above to 4L, I should be downing EIGHT .5L bottles-O-water per day... So that'd be four bottles before lunch, three after and then one bottle after dinner...

When using ounces, then, 124 fl oz per day divided by 16.9 (one .5L bottle), then we 7.33 bottles... and that if I don't drink coffee? Wait...

Either way, I do not attain that 8-bottle mark just yet. Need to work on that. Holy smokes.

So it looks like about a gallon a day. For a while, I was keeping a gallon of filtered water in the fridge and drinking it every day. I guess I need to get back to that....I drink water constantly but have not been measuring it.

Oh yea, I probably do 8 bottles worth of water by lunch on most days. I start off with 32oz before I have my coffee. Most times I go through the kitchen I drink a Mason jar worth. Before bed I drink at least a 16 oz and usually double that. And looooots throughout the day. Dehydration sucks, and is terrible for health!
