That birdcage has 4 ports that are spaced equally about the circumference so there is no specific spot it's supposed to be timed.
I chose to time the wrench flats so they are straight up and down.

That article reads like a 360 buckhammer advertisement to me.

It also makes me think more about reboring my 32 winchester into a 375 winchester as I can form 375 from the surplus amount of 30-30 brass I already have but the 38-55 is longer than I can form from my existing 30-30 brass.

I think the point of the article is "mainstream" which would mean multiple manufacturers supporting the cartridge with firearms.

I don't find "mainstream" mentioned in the article. That's fine. But, Ruger has indeed said they are bringing out the .35 Rem in their 336 model after the 30-30 is introduced. Mainstream? Maybe not, but, it's there.
360 buckhammer? Well, time will tell with that one.

While I like the way Randall is thinkin' with his ideas for rechambering certain levers, I also like what Tom said about the potential for a new 35 Remington-chambered Marlin.

But what *I* took away from Mr. Mann's story was a link I found within that somehow got me looking at Federal's 270-gr "bonded" flat point (SPEER! baby, it has to be, and I've got a bunch o' those waiting to be pressed into some .44 Mag brass...) to 1700 fps! Good Lowerd...

I was loading some of those 270 gr Deep Curl to 1450 fps... about as hot as I'd want to go for shooting random stuff we drag out into the Mojave. But that bullet for target shooting is a bit of a waste when it's regarded as a great hunting bullet for .44 Mag. I like heavier [bullet]-for-caliber loads.

...to 1450 using N110 and out of my 16.5" M1894.

Now there are only about five left standing that have any real support from ammunition or firearms manufacturers.

Mainstream is the word I used to describe commonly available guns that you can go into your average sporting goods store (be it national chain or independent) and buy new off-the-shelf without needing to special order.

Saturday Morning, rain lettin' up...

Sitting here in the Apples Big Hat Ranch office/HQ/thinktank, with a 5W GMRS HT dialed into GMRS Repeater Channel 7/Channel 29/Ranchino/462.700... [this 5W walkie can hear these guys 49 miles distant, but of course cannot reach them in tx. Hoping my 20W mobile rig when that's installed can do it. We're 150' higher than most of the rest of the southern Cal coastl plane/plain]
