Hey Rick, thanks for the snacks...

I kept hearing Mozzarella but it looked, tasted and had the texture like Monterey Jack.
    Did I hear right?
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.
    Happiness is a warm gun.

Rick! You'll always be an ace.

      In other news...

Should I have an esteemed gunsmith (the Official Gunsmith of the MLC, if I were able to secure an appointment) shorten the barrel on my Interarms Mark X/Zastava/Whitworth Safari Express?

It is chambered in .375 Holland & Holland Magnum and is barreled with 24". I have been talking to SplitHo0f about this; he had his CZ550 run through ThreeRiversGunsmithing and they shortened that tube to 21"...

Mine is a big Mauser which may never see Africa, but should see some North American dangerous game in the time I have left walking this Earth. I am unconcerned with the slight loss of velocity; in fact, those who in the past used the .375 H&H for many years in Africa would handload to slightly slower velocities to, - get this - acheive *greater* penetration...

It has a ghost ring sight that screws into the top of the bolt and a nice fiber optic front sight.
          This one is a keeper.

          How cool is that. Congrats!

It was the Rossi .357 short rifle...

I wasn't there, but I'm bettin' it was yer Miroku. I love that thing. Can I have it?

          I vote yes.

Shut the front door! No way. Really?

Superlatives escape me. <--- this is my excited face

Switching back to the desert yesterday, Rick's Vaquero was a splendid shooter and that trigger! SMOOTH! And as mentioned earlier, the weather simply smiled on us once again. Fun shooting as I believe we all[3 of us] shot pretty darn good. Rick, thanks for the smoked cheese, tasty stuff right there.
            To the next time!

Yes, it was mozzarella. Several of my friends claim it is their favorite, along with pepper jack.

My Ruger is the Lipsey's Flattop in .45 Colt.

You both also seemed to enjoy the 1917 Colt.
Mark's Miroku short rifle is a thing of beauty. I was surprised by how heavy Tom's brass Henry in .38/.357 is.

                  What, no pictures?

I'm not sure you guys went out any further than the nearest Black Bear Diner for a pancake breakfast.

Just kidding. Sounds like you guys had a great time. Keep it up.

Yeah, Mr. Bob, just got lazy or forgetful and didn't click any pics. Make up for that next trip tho.

                      CH,
I recently did two full 22" grill racks of smoked cheese on our ancient Weber, one rack for us and the other for some neighbors. Started out at 3:30am and finished around 8:00am. The outside temperature was between 34 and 42 degrees-perfect for the smoke. Ours and our neighbors' preferences are exactly the same as your friends, mozz and pj are the top favorites around here and closely followed by gruyere. The two-week refrigerator rest time is almost up but we still have a couple of vac packed blocks left from a smoke last October.
Have you ever or know anyone who has smoked blue cheese? It seems hard enough to take the smoke without melting, Mozz seems to be softer and it turns out well. Might have to try it before the weather turns too warm.

I picked up a 6# block of Mozzarella at Costco last night. I'll smoke some this weekend if I have time.

^ ^ ^ Good 10-day forecast fer th' smokin'. Gonna be on the cooler side.

                              In other news...

Doing a 2-way mobile GMRS radio install in my truck. After all is said and done, and after trying an external, metal antenna mount (that was sandwiched between the center-mount third brake light and the rear edge of the cab, which, no matter what adjustments I make to the screw-pattern mounting torque the horizontal plane of the antenna mount surface remains 1.5* forward of horizontal, pitching the antenna forward, making everthing look bent), I'm sheetcanning that idea and drilling through the roof of the cab.

Waiting on the delivery of the specific hole saw I want to use and will drop the headliner next week after researching how to do it without damaging the headliner (removal of A, B and C-pillar interior trim, door weatherstrip, sill plates... jfc... really?) but if I want to do a clean, professional-looking install, then... and that, my friends, is my curse.

I have standards! Problem is my skills do not often measure up to those very standards...
