I'm still getting use to the grandkids being here every other week. My week is next week so let's shoot for the week after ..... weather permitting....

I'm still hoping to check things out on Saturday.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

If you are, find me and I will have fresh baked sourdough.

This the one in Irvine this Saturday?

Just now hearing about it, and I probably won't go which is a shame because your sourdough is beyond reproach!

          He would, indeed.

Be neat if he could gas up his bird, fly out and just land the thing like an Alaskan bush pilot's Super Cub on the desert floor to spend the day with us.

It has to be 30 degrees cooler today than just a couple days ago. Lovin' this weather. To the garage!

Can I ask about your #1B?
            Chambered for?
Any issues with ejected cases bouncing off the tang safety?

Sure. Chambered 30-06. Cannot recall ejected cases bouncing off tang safety.
It's the only elk rifle I have left, save for my 30-30, which is a desert plinker nowadays. Ruger made those No.1's right.

splithoof, I just tried 10 empty cases thru the No.1 and three did indeed hit the safety. I just couldn't recall that before, but, there it was. Still, it's a wonderful rifle.

There is that big open flat spot just to the south with a slight upgrade. It would be perfect to land a plane..

I like the "fix". May look into that shortly. I no longer hunt, so, it isn't a pressing matter. Still, I like the fix. Thanks.

I wouldn't consider a single shot rifle for any dangerous game hunting regardless of caliber.

Me either. The most dangerous critter I hunted with mine were mule deer and elk. If I was gonna be in big bear country, my othe 30-06 would be going. Ruger MkII with 200gr Partitions.

I haven't shot, let alone handled my levers in a while. Time to rectify that!
Gonna get 'em out of the safe and wipe 'em down and get those rascals ready to shoot. Not to mention the Italian replicas.
