Ok guys, I just dros'd my hk p30 @ oc armory, spoke to Mike, he said his shipment of Sphinx has been ordered, will arrive in a week or week & a half, to check with him on Friday. He said he's got 4-5 coming in, but has no idea how much. He hasn't even seen it online or in real life.

I think so too. Researched the dutone and stainless, they're saying it's coming out late this year and they are working hard to meet the market demand.
I believe California should be on the top of their list as SSE will go away soon and customer services should be exceptional if they wanna survive the competition

Why is everyone assuming SSE will go away? Is it really that guaranteed?

Regardless, if it does, that will not be conducive to acquiring Sphinx pistols... i will have to acquire moneys faster. Probably won't be buying at this very moment, but hopefully the first few/several sell fast and prompts sphinx to get the ball rolling faster... although hopefully not so fast that I don't at least get the chance to see it first

Unfortunately, The SSE bill is making it's way up through every hearing, and this year's bill is a modified to the rejected one last year.
I hope it will not go through.
Personally, I hope I won't have to choose from the CA rooster.

Well what I've taken to doing is save $20 off my lunch money by simply bringing food from home. Not only did I save up $240, I've also cut down on my bad eating habits and I am actually losing weight.

PS: I also hope that this SSE thing don't go through.

Awesome, ruddogg...thanks for update. If Tim's assessment of available inventory holds true, maybe Mike can simply order as many as we need in the days ahead!

That's a purty gun. I'm sure hoping SSE stays around. If the law doesn't go through, SSE will just become more available and cheaper as more dealers adopt it.

Ya know, if you look at the front of the gun, it looks like the Sig 320.

I went down to OC Armory. Mike told me the same thing ruddogg said: he's got some on the way. He still doesn't have a price set. I asked him about the possibility of a group buy. He said he is NOT willing to do a group buy, but will get back to me regarding his best price. He said that in his experience, group buys always have negative results. Whether he means for the store or some buyers, I don't know. However, he did take my name and number and said he would call re: price. I suspect that he will simply order any available Sphinx you want just the same way any gun store would if they don't have it in stock. And of course, assuming you agree on the price. At this point, I don't know the price so I don't know if I will buy from him. I'm just passing this information along to you. I've found his pricing to be very good compared to other stores - and I know another Calgunner who found this to be very true on a recent Sig purchase - so I remain hopeful. Again, I just want to keep you informed.

Also, I did mention (again) that there are a lot of very interested Calgunners who want the Sphinx. He knows. We'll just have to see what his OTD price (gun, SSE, tax . . . ) will be.

yup I've got nothing but great things to say about Mike. I'll definitely consider the Sphinx from him if the OTD price is less than $1k, if not, I'll prob wait till Nov or Dec or something if the SSE bill unfortunately passes

I'm picking up my HK P30 next Tue, so I'll chat with Mike again when I go. Maybe he'll have it in stock already by then.
