With regard to revolvers, I'm having a *hell* of a time finding a shop that will process a revolver as an SSE. I've called several of the shops listed in this thread and all of them (Brent Nussbaum included) have said that they don't want to get involved.

It would be a SAE, not SSE. It would be hard to convert a revolver to single shot, plus ensuring that the size was large enough could be difficult as well, if it was not big enough already.Kemasa.

Hello,
I'm looking at doing an SSE on a Ruger LCP from a VC Defense in Thousand Oaks. Dealers name is John, and seems very nice and knowledgeable. Does anyone have any experience with this dealer? I was told by a few people to be very sure that the dealer doing the SSE is doing it 'legally", and that some shops and dealers are doing it incorrectly. They need to be using the correct barrels and blocks? From reading above it sounds like to convert it with a 25cal barrel is incorrect, and that it would be registered as a 25 cal. So should it be SSE'd with a 380 barrel to be truly legal? Any info would help...ThanksLast edited by xpensivewino; 05-08-2014, 10:44 AM.Comment

The .25 cal barrel conversion method isn't inherently incorrect. It's just that some dealers aren't doing it to the appropriate standards (able to fire a shot without a massive malfunction).WTS all BNIB: Colt S70 Repro, HK45c, Gen4 G19Comment

Semi-auto pistols are easy and so the pending legislation to close it down.
It is revolvers that are hard/impossible depending who you talk to. I have no idea how you'd do one: build a custom cylinder accommodating only one cartridge?Benefactor Life Member NRA, Life Member CRPA, CGN Contributor, US Army Veteran, Black Ribbon in Memoriam for the deceased 2nd Amendment

You need an FFL that will convert it to a single-action only revolver.
SAO revolvers are exempt from the roster.
It's not as easy as the semi-auto pistol method, but it's not unheard of either.Comment
