As far as I know it is not much more than a barrel swap. Would be easy to make a gun not auto-load with the right chamber.

I think part two of SSE is that the magazine must be blocked to prevent loading of multiple rounds. Again, a temporary measure.

There is nothing to grandfather. SSE is an exemption. The gun is your property. Once those 10 days pass it is yours.

Exactly. And it was already full legal for any number of people to purchase right now because they, unlike you, are exempt fromThe Roster.

THE GUN IS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN FULLY LEGAL FOR SEVERAL KINDS OF CITIZENS.

IT IS Y-O-U WHO ARE RESTRICTED. NOT THE GUN. IT IS A BAN BY ANY OTHER NAME.

The pistol is legal to own for anyone per the law. Period. It is just like hi-cap magazines: legal to own, just not legal to import, buy. or manufacture without a permit or being an exempt person like an LEO.

Once you have it, it is like any other legally obtained off-Roster pistol: perfectly and absolutely legal to possess, carry, and operate. You could buy the exact same make and model through PPT and be exempt from the Roster and legally purchase and possess it. Period. Just like pistols you already own that are no longer on the Roster but still legal to own and operate.

Please stop being cowed by these liberty and freedom hating pols who hope to dissuade you from exercising your constitutional right by making it complex and nebulous as to what is legal. the SSE is a bona fide legal loophole they will close this session and enact the beginning of next year. Use it before you lose it.
why are you going on as if I'm against SSE???? I have two and just ordered a 3rd.

Because you are implying it is a trick that is quasi-legal when it is not. It is fully legal. Let's not let the anti-gun FUD rule.

To repeat: it is not the PISTOL that is illegal under The Roster since there are many who can legally buy it, it is YOU who are illegal under The Roster. Re-read that until you understand. Once YOU have legally bought it, YOU are in legal possession of a legal firearm. Period. Forever.

WUT? where did you get that idea?

You need to re-read that last few posts (start at 1183)... and knock off the lecture.

                SSE

Just thought I would let everyone know that Tracy Rifle and Pistol just did my second SSE. The first was on a Ruger SR1911, and the second one is on a Ruger SR1911 Compact Commander.

So does anyone have any resources on longer barrels for SSE?

Planning to purchase a Ruger LCP SSE today and had a couple questions:

                    1) Is the DROS waiting period longer than the normal 10 full 24 hour periods for a SSE purchase?

                    2) Am I reading it correctly? Is the Single Shot Exemption loophole getting closed at the end of this year? No more SSE handguns?

                      2) Am I reading it correctly? Is the Single Shot Exemption loophole getting closed at the end of this year? No more SSE handguns? >> Yes, AB-1964 will most certainly be signed by the governor.

                        1) normal DROS... delay is no more likely than non SSE (there have been recent reports of delays in general)

                        2) there is a pending bill (AB 1964) that most people think governor will sign...

ETA: EBR beat me to it... sorry for the reiteration

No. because the pistol is completely legal and exempt from The Roster when sold in this configuration, it is just like any other legal pistol.

Yes. The bill, Dickinson AB 1964 passed by the Public safety committee on March 25th 5-2 and was referred on 26th to the appropriations Committee.

It will pass and it will be signed. So on 1/1/2015 it's over.

Sigh... Guess its time to turn my attention (wallet) to acquiring any SSE handguns I want before its too late...

Another question: The one handgun per month limit, is that per calender month or 30 day period? And if its per 30 day period is it from the date of purchase or the date of pickup?

                            Thanks guys. Love this place!
