Yeah. I understand. Great logic by the Feds. Make sure terrorists and criminals can't build their own guns (as if they would) and just make them steal or import/buy them illegally. And they are of course are free to illegally make bombs all they want. I feel safer already.

Update - decided not to wait and will purchase a Glock 19 that's on sale at LGS. What an experience.Last edited by golfandguns; 03-26-2014, 6:16 PM.Comment

without knowing how many off-roster handguns are in the queue in front of you, and knowing how many SSE kits they have, there is no way to know how long the minimum wait is. And if you have people that take 15-30 days to pick up after they start DROS, it just adds to the wait time.Been reading the forum for a while but decided to register to ask this question:
I am currently waiting for SSE to acquire a off-list P226 pistol at a popular gun store that is quite popular in Orange County. Every time I checked they would tell me that they would call me when the kit is released. They are usually pretty good at answering my questions but for some reason I am not really getting a lot of information, ie how long is the wait or the time remaining, other than they would contact me when it is ready. How long is typically the wait for it? Thanks.Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Yes. Thanks to the restrictions of the Roster, there is no defined process and timeline for SSE purchases. Another example of the Roster's demonstrable infringement on our rightwithout knowing how many off-roster handguns are in the queue in front of you, and knowing how many SSE kits they have, there is no way to know how long the minimum wait is. I am planning now for SSE to end Jan 1 2015. Have 2 of 3 taken care of. 1 in jail, 2nd ordered and on hold pending 31 day wait, and will be placing the order for the 3rd one at the end of April as the other comes out of jail."Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" [Matt 28:19]

I've been trying to wrap my head around this SSE thing, and I'm a little confused. I've read (on the CalCCW website) that the dealer must be a type 07 FFL. This thread and some of the gun shops say that you don't. Does anyone know what the correct answer is? I don't want to draw attention to myself, particularly with what is happening to Ares Armor right now.
Some solid legal clarification would be greatly appreciated.

It used to be 07, now it is to where even 01 can do it.I've been trying to wrap my head around this SSE thing, and I'm a little confused. The view changed. It used to be that it was claimed that an 07 FFL needed to do the changes, but then later the BATF decided that as long as a complete firearm is started with and parts are replaced, without any milling or machining, that an 01 FFL could do it.Kemasa.
