I just called Wild Bill's Old West Trading Co. in Elk Grove and they don't do SSE's on Gen 4 Glocks.

That's recent. I bought one early this year from them.

I am hearing the XDs has been recalled so they are not shipping any new ones, making it hard to find one before the end of the year. Might want to confirm with your LGS though.

You should check with some of the other stores in this thread to see if they can get you a Shield.

I'm not too concerned about the recall, I'm still looking to pick up an xds. For all of you who have one or have shipped in handguns for SSE, where did you make your purchase? There seem to be dealers out there who will not ship it to CA if they ask you if you are LEO and you say no, even when you explain to them it is perfectly legal to do SSE.

Hey Sharkman, you can also ask your FFL to buy it from the out of state dealer, and then you buy it from your FFL.

I have also found my dealer won't let me pay for it and have it shipped from out of state. Because then we are "buying" it before we can legally own. But they would buy for me if I pay them first.

Edit: They said this is what their 'lawyers' have determined.

                    Meant to quote above post

Buying and being the registered owner are different animals. I could buy a car and if you register it solely in California then it's legally yours right.?
find another dealer. Imo This shop is only trying to control the transaction .I.e. cost. Probably end up being over charged.

You are not buying it, you are just paying for it. It does not make a difference, but as long as they give you a way to deal with it ...

I agree with both of you, I also came to the conclusion they are overcharging and do not want me importing on my own, cutting into their profits.

I'm sure its been asked before but I had no luck with the search here.

Is there anyway to SSE a 22lr revolver here? Specifically the Taurus 990

You would want to do it as a single action, not single shot. If it is big enough in terms of size, then just making it single action might work.

How does that usually work? And could I convert it back?
