I would say it's the gun but this happened over the weekend. He used a $500 (street price outside CA) Canik Tp9 Sfx to take 1st overall.

Dude. You gotta fix your iTrader rating. That's hard to look at. I thought not having one was bad.

        Most likely.

A great majority of race guns have never even seen a NATO 9mm round. That is a real 9mm. They mostly shoot bunny fart rounds. Any one can shoot those fast. Now, hitting a target and shooting fast comes from practice.

depending on devision, bunny fart loads my not work. Any gun running in major PF is far from a bunny fart load.

My current major PF load is right at 1400fps using a 124gr JHP.

I heard USPSA lowered the major power factor to 165. My question is, is it hard to shoot a pistol in a dress?

You forgot something: The guns Jerry Miculek shoots for speed are not stock guns; they're heavily customized. Of course, he is highly skilled, but his skill, alone wouldn't cut it.

Hollywood hires the best trainers. You and I cant hire the best at $200-300/hr for several days a week. We certainly pay for it when you pay the ticket to watch the movie. Just a reminder to not pay for Hollywood movies. I usually find the used DVD a few months later for $5.

Speaking of fast, check out staff sergeant John Browning. And this is with iron sights, limited division. Pretty damn amazing.

It's all in the grip to control recoil. This expert makes it look so easy.

Jeez. I guess you could say Miculek is "highly skilled". Just a little bit of an understatement. He only won the International Revolver Championship, 20 years in a row. One of the top 3 gunners and he's no youngster.

Also, invariably, when people poo poo the 165 pf, you'll see them in other posts recommending to others load data that's not even remotely close to 165. They use the fact that competition doesn't require full power self defense loads as an excuse for not getting out there.
