You're shaking off the old magazine - either don't do it, or do it way faster so it doesn't interfere with the support hand. The speed should be limited by how fast your support hand moves - think of a reload as "weak hand magazine draw."

Since camera is on your head, it shows that you're not looking at the front of the magazine well, which is followed by a slightly jittery insertion. The two are connected.

What is your par time in dry fire?

      Aha!!! ... Yeah, 1-2-3 1-2... A triple then pair!

I guess this is another Eureka! moment for me... Let me note this and try it out... Thanks!

You told me that before... In my dry practice, it's my support arm that gets fatigued as I basically pull it to my magazine, pull it the magazine out and immediately into the waiting magwell.

Hhhmmm... I need to review my footage on the reloads.

That said, I do look at the magazine well. But careful not to look down so much that it takes time to "re-orient" back into target.

My par time in dry practice is 0.9-1.0-sec for a sight picture at 10-yards.

Here is a snippet from my last match in April...

      Cheers, and thanks!!!

        Some good info here.

Practicing CORRECTLY can yield good results.

This last Dec. I went from PCC to Open. I am 50 years old. Don't move fast (read...slow). My joints and bones hurt most days. My vision sucks...reason I shot PCC and now open...and my practice is our local club's (Redding Gun Club) Tuesday Night Steel shoots, monthly USPSA matches, and a couple of outlaw shoots a month.
I am a middle of the road B shooter in open.

I do not dry fire or practice. I wish I had more time to practice, but that is my world right now.

My point is with good fundamentals and a bit of practice, you should have no problem speeding up.

        Stick with it.

Here is a stage of mine from a local outlaw match. Yes...I move like an old panda bear.

Bring hay for my horse....wine for my men....and mud for my turtle!

What do you hear ???...... Nothing but the rain. Well grab your gun and bring in the cat.

That's a good par time. If you can get close to it in live fire, just disregard what I said because you're doing it right. If not, there is that flick to the right with the strong hand that might be an issue.

As for "re-orienting," remember that the fastest way for transitions (and most other tasks) is to look at the new/current target and have the gun "appear" in the correct position. It's always faster than "riding the sights." It's also more difficult because you don't have the security blanket of keeping track of sights, but are instead counting on proper index and quick acquisition from peripheral vision to the shot. In a way, every transition is almost like a draw, where the gun has to end up in the correct position for the speed to be there.

That's a good run and you fire as soon as you enter the new position. I'm calling "fake modesty" What is your class in Open?

Not fake modesty...this was my "best" stage out of five. My first stage was horrible. Could not seem to get the dot on an array of steel targets and ran dry forcing a static reload.

Just started shooting open in Dec.

He would rack up the procedurals where I compete. Tahama must be fairly lax.

I would have called at least 3 if it was USPSA sanctioned

Fair enough, the point is that less experienced shooters start too late and have to bring the gun up. It did seem too early at a glance, but I was giving him the benefit of the doubt.

At least one shot while foot faulting at the first box and two (maybe just one) shots while faulting at the second box. But if the audio is not in sync with video I could be mistaken.

His foot was not touching the ground in the box from what I could see. Close but it looks not quite down.

I can't tell at box 1 because it is just too close, and you cannot see the impact downrange of that first shot (audio damns him, but you can't be sure that a/v sync is perfect). But it is damn close. I would have let him slide there as RO unless I happened to be staring at his feet while listening for the gun (my attention is usually on the hands/gun for safety's sake).

Box 2 has a clear as day first shot before he has even stepped down into the box, and most likely a second shot while his back foot is still in contact with the ground outside of the box. One procedural for sure, but not sure about the second since I had to play the video in slo-mo to see. My rule as an RO is that if there is any doubt, then the shooter gets the benefit of the doubt.

BTW, if shooter is a B Class but only started competing in December, then he shows a lot of talent.
