    Kimber is not leaving CA.

As much as some on this site seem to wish this was true, it's not.

What are you talking about and why on earth would you assume my comments are in any way directed at you?

        Self aggrandize much?

Go back and READ the Kimber thread YOU linked on this thread and you will see many anti Kimber comments...is that not a fact?

        SMH.

Don't care about anti Kimber comments. I read them a lot. I hate Glocks, but I don't bother to B1T@h about it. You posted in this thread the statement I quoted, not commenting on the other thread at all.

In my comment about Kimber that you quoted above:

I didn't quote anything you posted, refer to anything you posted, or refer to you in any way.

Yet you "lash out" and try to make it about you.

            LOL and SMH.

I actually wish all handgun manufactures would leave the state so that we can force the roster issue as a ban.

                  Very nice FSF.

So, just to clarify, in order to qualify to be roster exempt, the pistol must be manufactured as a single shot (bolt action in this case). And once the pistol is completed (as a single shot), the purchaser could convert it to semi auto? Is that correct? (I realize that you're not a lawyer, and that any info you might disseminate would be opinion based on your reading of the laws and any confirmation letters from agencies allowed to give said confirmation.)

If so, my question would be are you planning to sell the upper by itself so that hypothetically a citizen could build there own 1911 frame from an 80% paperweight as a single shot using your upper, and subsequently convert said home garage manufactured single shot 1911 into a semi auto?

                  Oh the possibilities.

                  Sorry, not sorry.

SonofWWIIDI, what the purchaser chooses to do after they take possession is entirely their choice. I am manufacturing a bolt action pistol to appease the over lords. The upper is not what makes this a bolt action. I'll do my best to explain. What we patented was simple. We made a set of polymer grips and a polymer magazine well block that, when installed and sonically welded together, create a solid block. This block stops the end user from inserting a magazine into the well. Since the firearm now has no capacity to accept a magazine it has no capacity to self load, a key step in the semi automatic cycle.

Loading of the FUCA is achieved by pulling the bolt (slide) back and locking it open, inserting a single cartridge into the chamber and releasing the bolt forward. Depressing the trigger fires the cartridge, cycles the bolt to the rear and ejects the spent casing. The polymer magazine well block has no capacity to lock open the bolt, therefore the bolt closes on an empty chamber. Firing subsequent cartridges requires repeating the steps. Since the polymer parts are assembled and welded before the bolt is installed we never converted a semi automatic into a bolt action.

However I am unclear why you need to build a bolt action from an 80% frame.

Thanks for the clarification of your design.

The reason I asked about garage builds, is that my understanding (and I may very well be wrong) is that even garage made pistols must be roster compliant or a single action only (ala bolt) from the get go. I thought if your design was based on an upper platform that was bolt action, a frame could be made from an 80% and the bolt action upper used to comply with kommiefornia restrictions.

Sorry if I was unclear. I, like you mentioned for yourself, sometimes read my posts and think they're compete and clear, but i am frequently proven wrong.

                            :embarrassed:

I wish the "Safe Handgun Roster" applied to EVERYBODY.

Imagine the uproar if the equal protection clause were applied and cops, feds, military, any government agency could not buy "unsafe" handguns. The problem would solve itself.

Or if all handgun manufacturers followed the law like Barrett did. Tell the law enforcement agencies that they will not sell handguns deemed "unsafe" by the state to law enforcement or other government agencies.

Cause it it's not on the "Safe Handgun Roster", it must be unsafe, no?
