Your right It's not a Wilson etc. But just a question what makes the Wilson et al so great? Advertising? The name on the outside? We decided to make a reasonably priced 1911 framed handgun that one could afford, that has quality parts and that complies with CA 's draconian laws. I already make race guns in the thousands of dollars, money is not the point of this exercise.

sigpic Makers of all things fine, CA Compliant AR15, AR10, AK47, Browning 1919, MP5 clone, and now the FUCA 1911, heck I might even have a MG42 laying around -
Hopefully it's projects like this and the AR pistols that will cause those laws to be changed
[quote]How quickly many forget the ramp up in AR15 prices at the threat of change, and then it didn't happen, and prices fell through the floor. [quote]
Ok but as you can see at $699 we didn't set the bar all that high
Maybe, but any change to the firearm excludes it from the list. If I have a vendor who can produce a hammer cheaper than me and increase my bottom line I'm going with him. If that gun is listed and I change that part, off the list it goes because of a change in the internal workingsIf the list keeps getting shorter and shorter to the economic advantage of those few manufactures that decide to stay on eventually even Antitrust arguments are going to be made.sigpic Makers of all things fine, CA Compliant AR15, AR10, AK47, Browning 1919, MP5 clone, and now the FUCA 1911, heck I might even have a MG42 laying aroundComment

Yep, that is just what happened to S&W, Ruger and now it seems Kimber. Their parts supplier changed, and those guns that were on the roster were removed because the Manis didn't change to a new model with the new parts. It can happen to any company who uses vendors for various parts, and does not make EVERY component in house.Maybe, but any change to the firearm excludes it from the list. High-five to Full Spectrum for working on this!
At my point in life I enjoy giving away precious firearms, so I am not in the market to buy any more.
I will however buy something like this, if only to cause a bit of distress to some statist bureaucrat, some gun-grabbing socialist, politician, or other government official who feels bothered that a citizen still can acquire one. That is the reason that I purchased an Arsenal Ak pistol last year, and part of me feels a bit giddy knowing that it bothers one of the above.
All of us as gun owners have a duty to resist the efforts of the legislatures in the name of freedom, and pistols such as this are but one avenue to send this message.Comment

Right and sorry to say, no one makes all their own parts regardless of what they say. Your right sorry as I said want I type makes sense in my brain. Let me try again. The device we have patented allows us to cerate a bolt action pistol from something that has the appearance of a semi auto, but was never a semi auto. Maybe I need more coffee....or is it lesssigpic Makers of all things fine, CA Compliant AR15, AR10, AK47, Browning 1919, MP5 clone, and now the FUCA 1911, heck I might even have a MG42 laying aroundComment

1) There is no evidence that Kimber is going to stop selling in CA.Yep, that is just what happened to S&W, Ruger and now it seems Kimber. Their parts supplier changed, and those guns that were on the roster were removed because the Manis didn't change to a new model with the new parts. It can happen to any company who uses vendors for various parts, and does not make EVERY component in house.
2) Just changing vendors or suppliers of a part would not cause a handgun to become "off roster" as long as the design/spec of the part did not change."But far more numerous was the herd of such, Who think too little and who talk too much." -John DrydenComment

That already has happened with Ruger and S&W. Why was the ON ROSTER M&P 45 taken off roster? There were a couple on. They were removed because CA decided the design had changed and S&W did not change the model number. Same thing with ALL Ruger semis like the 22/45. They changed parts and continued the same model number. CA took it off the roster. If you have different info please give it.Comment

Well done you!Mr Orange I'll see what I can explain here. We have patented a device that converts the standard 1911 into bolt action. This means that to load the pistol you have to manipulate the slide to load a cartridge. The firing sequence would look like this: Lock slide open, insert cartridge, release slide closing breech, fire pistol, slide will cycle and eject spent cartridge, slide closes on empty chamber. To fire a second cartridge requires repeating the sequence. Since the pistol has no capacity to self load by definition it is not a semi auto. The manual manipulation of the slide to load a single cartridge makes it then by that same definition a bolt action. While it may not look like a traditional bolt action it operates as such. Cosmetically it looks like a semi auto because A) those parts are readily available, B) in all honesty people buy a look.
Our website (which sucks by the way) is currently getting some new technogeeks to manage it since the old ones didn't exactly do the best of jobs. Following the release and development of the FUCA Project lines (yes there is more than one thing coming) on facebook at this stage will be the easiest.^^ Said by some lunatic on the internetComment

Of course a mfg can make a change that causes a gun to drop off the roster. If you have different info please give it.
My points remain:
1) No valid info that Kimber is leaving CA exists.
2) A simple supplier source change does not cause a gun to no longer be on roster if the design of the part remains the same.
If you have differnt info please provide it.
