Had my renewal appointment today. I got the same info. Mine expires end of Nov. Said that when I get the call not to come in until then as the two years starts rolling on that date. Interviewer asked if I had a car lock box and if I had CCW insurance also. Said neither is required but a good idea. He mentioned he had a lockbox for the consol of his pickup truck. No mention of them when I first got my permit two years ago.

Great info and great news! Shenecke, if you're interested, I just installed one of these Console Vaults in my F150: http://www.consolevault.com/Ford-F15...l#.V3LpgJBHarU
      I love it!

So all that is needed is to complete the forms and schedule an appt?
When do you have to test for your firearm?

Same here. I told him I already had a lock box and insurance.

Yes. Re apply is a smooth process. Interviewer said sheriff always approves unless you have had some bad history. They said I could go to training anytime, but I will wait until closer to November date.

Great to hear about the renewals. Recently received my ccw and was already worrying about the renewal.

Turned in app. Jan 2016 and was told should hear something in 6-8 months. Called earlier this month and they said they are still working on june 2015 apps. Looks like its still taking a year. I thought they hired 2 full time investigators to speed up the process? Anyone have any updated info on new app wait times?
                  Thanks

They told me 6-8 months at the end of August 2015.... And I'm still waiting ....lol... I knew at the time that I turned in my app to expect a year give or take so no disappointment here, I'm just glad to almost be at the end....

Almost there CeeCee. As long as everything is in order when the investigator gives you a call it's all down hill from there.

I have question for those who have recently renewed. Have any of you been told to bring a letter from your employer acknowledging that you have a CCW and that they are OK with it?
If it ain't broke, keep fixin' it 'til it is...

When I originally applied they required a letter from my employer stating whether they would allow me to carry at work. They would not accept a print out of my employers published policy.

They did not require a new document at renewal, but I also did not change jobs. They might require a new letter if you changed employers.

I had to provide my employers weapons policy when I applied as well. I have since changed jobs, so hopefully that doesn't cause me a problem for renewal which comes up in January. My question was regarding my wife's renewal. She went in yesterday and was told she would need an actual letter from her manager. She hasn't changed jobs since her first go round.

Nothing posted here in quite a while... So... Come on August Apps. Turned mine in August 31 2015 so I think I still have a month plus before I get a call.
