Have any of you reached out to www.calccw.com? They may be able to help you round up more residents to send those letters.

Plus, you guys should make up special fliers re this effort and drop them off at the gun stores and shooting ranges both in SJ county and neighboring counties, since for some San Joaquin residents near the border, the ones in those other counties may be closer to them.

Similarly, search for IDPA, USPSA/IPSC, and other shooting orgs' local clubs in your and neighboring counties and make sure they know about this.

Good luck with that. The owner/admins of CalCCW banned me and Gene. They truly cannot bear alternative viewpoints and people who actually work on the issues.

I trust that a few of the SJ residents are involved in the sports and will get the info/letter into the wild.

Wow. Sorry to hear about that. I've seen this sort of thing happen too often over my past 5+ years of CCW activism. People should be able to respectfully disagree and yet maintain working relationships or even friendships. But I guess because we all care passionately about the cause, that belief becomes hard to practice. JMHO

Our side is not strong enough to afford to be divided since many RKBA issues will remain in the political sphere where numbers and a unified voice/front are critical.

For you San Joaquin gunnies, here's the link to finding the closest USPSA/ISPC clubs:

                Here's the same for IDPA:

                            CCW Good Cause Statement advice

I am a CCW holder from Stanislaus County and recently moved to San Joaquin Valley so I am not looking forward to the reciprocity deal (cause there is none). In my good cause statement, I was warned NOT to use the "self defense" claim as Law Enforcement views the public as a bunch of skally-wags that don't know the difference between self defense and you stepped on my toes. Therefore, on my CCW Application, my good cause statement was worded as, "I work in the field of Loss Prevention and arrest a large number of confirmed Norteno gang members, 3rd strikers, and suspects with violent backgrounds. I have been the subject of numerous death threats, I have been attacked by a confirmed MOB gangster (case # _____), and because I live within walking distance of the Modesto Mall on Dale Rd I routinely run into these individuals and have been recognized off-duty on many many occasions. I do not promote violence, I am not a proponent for shooting my fellow man, however I have come to realize that these incidents happen within seconds and Law Enfocement averages a 4 minute response time on a good day."
This was enough to get my permit granted. My employer, who donates over $2,000 a year to the Sheriff, also wrote me a Letter of Recommendation, which did seem to help.
I hope this info helps. Keep plugging along.

No offense, but how would this help us? That was your GCS for a basically SHALL ISSUE County. I'm also not a huge fan of bribing a Sherriff with campaign money, or using someone who did to politic my way into a CCW. You should have stayed in Stanislaus County, you just gave away your golden ticket...
