Pistolero 50K Challenge!

I am so grateful today for this community. There is not a more vibrant example of the 1st amendment at work than the community that's doing the most to protect the 2nd in California.

CGF retains the most talented, effective, and yes, expensive 2A attorneys on the planet, because we play to win. These strategic efforts will literally help preserve our freedoms and our way of life for generations. If that isn't worth a hundred bucks, then I will eat my sombrero.

Let's ROLL.

∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆……………………………………………

So that we can track the success of the drive, please enter Pistolero in the memo field. Look for the link: "What case has made you decide to donate?", and Enter 'Pistolero'.

Freedom Ain't Free

Let's get back our gun rights.

Just a thought, but how about a tax day money bomb event? Gives you about 2 weeks to coordinate and organize.

But how about the rest of us?

I'm due. So I'll do it for 10 others who are not in that position. Very Grateful to be able to do so...

Should we tag with a certain name when donating? PS I just copied & pasted the thread title...

How bout "a bump is worth $50.00!" Just an idea.

Here's $50.00.

If we're thinking in terms of a tally, the only practical way I can think of is to put something consistent in the notes field during the PayPal checkout process, or something in the memo of a live check.

Thank you, Maestro and all of the generous donors, for making such a personal commitment to advancing liberty through supporting our modest, volunteer-driven organization. We'll continue to work hard alongside the finest subject matter legal counsels in the US, and I think you'll be pleased with the events to come very soon.

Perhaps we just allow the foundation to use the funds as it sees fit. I trust that the board would uniquely positioned to assess need.

He's saying a tally/count for how many donations are derived from this specific drive. If someone randomly goes on CGF's site and donates and someone else clicks your link in this thread to donate, it'll look the same on CGF's end.

I vote we designate the donation memo field be "Pistolero" for this specific donation drive. All in favor say "Aye" and donate with 'Pistolero' in the notes/memo; all opposed say "nay" and donate anyway.

Also note that these memo fields/notes don't designate or dictate how/where the money goes, 501(c)3 non-profits have some interesting rules set up about how money is taken in/documented/payed out...on a basic scale, all donations go into the General Fund and legal costs are paid from that. We technically don't pay directly into the "Fresno County CCW Initiative", we donate to CGF's general fund and when they act in Fresno, they pull from the general fund.

Agreed. No downside to this that I can see. Editing OP accordingly . . .

Donations to the Foundation go straight to the treasury and go to all of our programs and activities. Only once in a while do we tag and assist a specific project (Theseus was an example.) However, tagging these so we can tally them is useful so we can tell people how close to the goal we are.

On the Paypal confirmation page before you submit there's a link that says "What case(if any) made you to donate?" That's where to click and type in 'Pistolero'. Donation sent.

$1,400 so far? (not all tagged "Pistolero" though)

Maybe the next donor could calc the running total, and we could keep it updated?

Hello from MD...$50 was sent this morning to CGF before I even saw this....it was specifically tagged for Gray's case, but I realize "po-tey-to, po-tah-to"...

Keep up the great work out there!

My case is also specifically tagged, but CGF, in light of the circumstances of the quickness of the appeals start, dropped about mid-4 figures into the case to push it up to CA10. There may also need to be costs (which will be recovered once the district court judgement is vacated), which if you read the docket, adds up to about $1600, depending on how the clerk of the court rules.

Peterson seems to be, at this time, the highest CGF-supported/coalition civil case in terms of climbing the stair-ladder to SCOTUS in terms of carry, though there is significant right to travel aspects, but if you think about it, carry outside of the home is essentially a right to travel issue, as addressed by the original Sykes complaint before it became Richards. Personally, I'm hoping another case jumps ahead, but I'll step up if I have to.

Thank you Krucam and putput for the contributions.
