No disrespect, but if you read my post, you'll see that I pretty much said the
same exact thing. My intent was not to get another guy telling me that "this is not an overnight fix", or "this is chess, not checkers", or the old standby "be patient". We've all heard it before, several times. I understand we need to be patient, and I continue to be as patient as humanly possible.

I know this isn't an overnight operation, and that a lot of stars need to align. It's just that it has been more or less "2 weeks..." for almost 3 months now. I realize that if there is any new info you're able to share, we'll be the first to know, it's just hard to keep seeing this thread get bumped with nothing. Sorry, rant over, I'll continue to semi-patiently sit on the edge of my seat.
LOL... If you think 3 months is a long wait, your head would have exploded back in '05 and '06 when the "2 weeks" thing started. I waited for close to a year for "the list" to be updated and nothing ever came. Don't be disappointed if the CCW thing for San Joaquin county doesn't pan out and we have to wait for a more CCW friendly Sheriff to be elected.

Things will take what they do; there's no "easy" button or expedite option in matters such as these. Without going into too much detail, we know that the county is going to revise its policy, and that the Sheriff continues to make 'interesting' decisions that we're tracking closely.

Thanks for all your efforts Wildhawker... I would like to get your thoughts on this idea I have...

I was thinking about organizing a city or county wide "open carry" day. I have begun to read up on California's open carry laws and for the most part they seem pretty straight forward. I know city and county laws can make things a little confusing, but I think if we put some effort into creating some color coded maps of Stockton and other cities that clearly show area's to stay away from (Schools, Post offices, etc...) and encourage law abiding legal gun owners to openly carry their firearms on a certain day, I honestly think we could at the very least get some much needed attention for our city and county.

I would be willing to start work on the maps personally. I can read through the laws and highlight areas that are to be avoided. I realize there would be a lot... but I think it would be worth while.

I would never have suggested anything like this 10 or 15 years ago, but I have a feeling SPD and other departments might welcome something like this right about now...

Let me know what you think.

Good letter! Found a typo though. Last paragraph, "There answer..." should be "Their answer..."

I'll have 1 each for my wife & I, along with 50+ more letters from family and friends, signed and in the mail ASAP. I know a lot of like minded people in this county, hopefully everyone else does too.

Thanks... after reading it again, I realized that it should be "The answer..." in any case, it is fixed now.

This is the type of Community Organizing I can get into.

Setting a goal today to convince 10+ friends and family to do the same by July 4th. Heck I am going to try to do this hunting party style and collect all the letters myself to send out.

What a great idea Ranger295, focusing the frustration in an positive direction.

                      Good luck everyone else.

Printed and will be outbound today, along with one from the Mrs.

Also forwarded the letter to some non CGN friends.

                          CGF donation inbound as well.

C'mon boys and girls... full court press! Let's overwhelm them with letters.

                            SJ CCW Denial

I am new to the group. Got the letter of denial yesterday from Steve Moore. Obviusly a form letter with a rubber stamp. I will be a dedicated supporter of the group.

Board of Supervisors letter in the mail today.

Someone asked me via PM if you can send the letter directly to the board. I thought I would share the answer publicly incase there was anyone else wondering. Please mail it directly to the county board of supervisors. The address is on the letter.

I am glad there has been a good response so far. Keep spreading it around. I have emailed it to people, linked it to my Facebook status, and even printed it for people I know that do not have a computer. Be creative!
