So just as long as you don't have anything that would bar your gun rights it should go through then?

Doesn't even need to be an arrest!
Disclose everything, when my investigator called he asked about something I had contact with the Sheriff's Deputy about a boat that belonged to my ex father in law that was deceased! the boat took on water in the delta and the Sheriff's department helped salvage the boat and get it off the water! That was something simple I didn't even remember it happened until he asked! They're like Santa's helper they know when you've been bad or good! Livescan is going to pull everything up whenever you have had contact with a LEO'S and they document it or need to write a report!

Picked up my permit today, but restricted it to 1 year. Not sure why.

That's new. Did you ask? Or not notice until you left the office?

Most likely for past speeding and California Stop infractions. Just have to keep my nose clean.

Is it on your record or from a long time ago?

Well hopefully that is not the new standard. I wonder what the guys who just went through renewals received? Hopefully it was the standard 2 years.

Would you mind telling me what you put for your good cause? Can PM me if you don't want to put it out in the open?

Self defense for me and my family. That was pretty much it. Don't fluff it or justify unless you have a specific situation that is causing you to want to apply.

Does your permit say that it's "restricted to one year"? Or is your expiration date just one year from the date of issuance? If it was never discussed or mentioned to you, or not listed as a specific restriction, it's possible that it's a clerical error. Have you considered calling them and asking?

It was a restriction noted. I called. That was the investigators assumption. The sheriff mentioned it in the interview I had with him so that is probably the case. At least I was approved. I haven't had a ticket in a couple years so I just have to keep it that way.

Okay, I guess that makes some sense, then. It's like you're on a probationary period of sorts. Toe the line and prove yourself! Once you get used to carrying, it's hard to think about giving it up.
