    training class - 8/22/20 & 8/23/20

NOTE: 16hr training with Trident Firearms Academy was great. Too bad extreme heat/smoke cut the outdoor exercises down to quickly firing qualification rounds only. Which was 30 total rounds, starting from low ready (not drawing from holster) = 5 rounds each at different distances from 1.5 yards up to 10 yards. Super easy to get 80% or more.

EDIT: I got qualified with a second weapon that was not on my original CCW application. When I went to pickup my permit, the office said the DOJ had the wrong serial number on that second weapon. It did not match the training certificate, which was correct. They issued me a permit only with the original weapon. Next day I called the store where I purchased it (Turners), they saw that a previous employee apparently entered the wrong serial number. I went into the store with the weapon, they fixed it and said DOJ database gets updated instantly. Next day I went back to permitium site, filled out modify permit, paid $14. Waiting for processing, which the office said wouldn't take long at all, then I'll go back there and receive a new permit with both weapons.

For anyone interested, here is my timeline: My CCW expired 7/31. I submitted my Permitium application 0n 5/02, at start of the 90-day window. On July 06 I received a call from the investigator who asked a few routine questions. On July 30 I received an email from the investigator who asked me to upload a few more documents. On Aug 26 I received an email from the Professional Standards Division that my CCW renewal was approved and ready for pickup. On Sep 01 I picked up my new CCW permit, good for 2 years. Note that during the process from May 02 to Aug 26 I sent three emails to the CCW website requesting status of my application. Each email was answered saying that the process was moving along. I sent these emails hoping that the people involved in processing my application would be encouraged not to let the application stall. I can’t say if this helped or not, but it didn’t hurt. (“The squeaking wheel gets the grease”). As for the permit itself, it is the same old laminated form. However, the lady in the Professional Standards Division office said that they have received all of the new equipment to convert to a more “professional” CCW permit. She couldn’t say when the conversion would begin. However, she said that each CCW permit holder would be notified to come in and get the new CCW “card”.

I was told when I renewed this year that they are no longer using photo's for the laminated licenses. My old one had my picture but my new one does not.

Finger print is on the card (ink print done at front desk day of pickup).

No picture required on my new CCW card; just my thumbprint.

                      Get it through lodi pd.
I don't know any more other than lodi issues their own.

Yes, however when I first applied I was a Stockton Resident. When I moved I had to do a change of address and nothing else. I just went through my first renewal without issue, no mentioning that I need to try my local agency first (not asked to apply with Stockton first when I had started my initial application).

                          Renewal timeline.....

                          I applied 90days from expiration.
I received approval with 11 days left before expiring.
So it took 79 days to get the approval.

Glad my permit didnt expire before the approval came.

Already took the class, so I'm good.
