Submitted application sometime in early November as I was sure the election was going to the other way, and just wanted to get in line, just in case.

Well, my interview is finally here (8/31), and I cant believe it. I'm pretty sure all my ducks are in their proper row, just have to wait and see what happens next.

What I have noticed while catching up is that most everybody is/was concerned about their GC statement (as was I). Thanks to calguns.net, that concern is gone (for the most part anyway lol). I'll post an update in the next couple of days.
So, how did the interview go? How long are they telling you it might take before you get a call for a range date?
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

      Lets see how it goes.

I carry a full size all metal S&W 1006 in a Crossbreed Quikclip IWB holster at 4:00/15%cant with a good carry belt with no discomfort. It's really no different from carrying my M&P40c except the long slide runs down below the holster so I would not recommend going commando.

Just had my interview on Friday (9/1) they said they have to tell us background check can take up to 6 months to come back but they've been processing them in about a month and a half.

Sweet! When did you apply? People like to see timelines of how long the process is currently taking.

Sorry for the late response as I was out of town for a couple of days.
The interview was actually very painless. The hardest part for me was the fingerprinting as I subconsciously was trying to help Cantalno's partner by rolling my finger.
I did get there approximately 1 hour before my appointment time and I'm glad I did. They handed me the questionnaire that had about 50 yes or no questions. If you answered yes to any of the questions, you had to explain on the back (I had like 10-15 "yes" answers). Some of the questions are "Have you ever lost you're temper?" Which I answered yes as I got into a fight at a hockey game believe it or not. "Have you ever had to physically defend you're self?" Yes, see above. Make sure you bring a pen to the interview. As others have said, I truly believe its a test of you're honesty.
For all those worried about the interview, there is no need as they really want you to get you're permit.
The "interview" is actually more about going over you're paperwork, as I dont recall them asking me any questions. Cantalno was very friendly and professional.
As I was leaving, I asked about when I could expect a notice about the range date. I mentioned "should I expect 4-5 months, no it should be sooner than that" is what he said.

It looks like some of the back log has been cleared. Live-scans are coming back faster which helps. A recent range class had almost 200 in it.
                  Good luck

Have my class on sept 30. Are we needing to bring a holster? Doesn't say too on the paper work. I only know 1 guy who has his CCW did, but he did it a few years ago. So I'm not sure if things changed. Thx.

                      No holster work in class.

Be sure to have a locking container (no guns or ammo allowed in the classroom), and wear long pants and proper shoes... no shorts or sandals.

Range bag work? I use a lock and key with it.

As long as it is legal for transport and for leaving in the parked car.

No shorts even if 100 degrees outside? Is that just to prevent casings from landing in your shoe or something?
