Will a 484(A) Conviction 32 Yrs Ago Be Cause to Deny a CCW in San Bernardino County?

More than 32 years ago, in my 20s, I plead no contest to 1 count of petty theft per CA Civil Code 484(A), which stemmed from selling a car to another 20something, where a dispute arose after the sale as to weather or not I properly disclosed the true mileage. Other than that my background and credit are perfect. Would such "conviction" (pleading no contest = a conviction, which I did not know at the time) prevent me from getting a CCW in San Bernardino County?

Apply for one , what have got to loose, or apply for Florida, Arizona or Utah and wait for the results.

I don't think you'll have any problems with a 32 year old misdemeanor.

        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

            1) Cheaper faster way to find out if you won't pass background.
            2) With those you can carry many other States you may travel to.

Personally I have a CA CCW (20+ years) and just got the AZ for times I travel to Las Vegas.

              Utah covers Washington
Utah does not cover New Mexico
Florida is needed for Florida since they don't recognize non-resident permits.
At the time I applied, Nevada did not accept AZ. There was also one (or more) that recognized AZ but not FL... and AZ is the cheapest and easiest/fastest to get (<30 days total @ current time)

And this brings up the issue with the somewhat infrequent changing of the laws.
While my "collection" of permits is presently valid in 36 states, tomorrow that might be 37, or 34.
Having multiple states is like diversifying your stock portfolio... if New Mexico decides tomorrow that they will not accept AZ, I'm covered under Florida.

OTOH, I think it is silly to simply "collect" permits, or to build a set that covers as near to all 50 states as possible if there is no reasonable expectation of travel to those states.
I spend a lot more time in NM than WA (only been there twice and not in 15 years)... AZ makes more sense for me than Utah. I have no current rational need for anything more than CA and FL, with AZ as a backup to FL (since the AZ permit does provide some exemptions to their Constitutional Carry restrictions such as establishments that serve alcohol)

Agreed, I haven't been anywhere other than CA and NV in almost 10 years with no plans to go anywhere else.

We regularly drive to Austin to visit my parents, so NM is a must-have (and they don't recognize CA).

I wish Colorado would recognize non-resident permits, but at least it's an open carry state and reasonably free outside of Denver.
