Picked up my permit yesterday 12/21/16 didn't get called just happened to drop by and ask a question. I was in the December 11th class. There was a stack of permits ready. One of the young ladies was by herself taking care of business as well as calling people to pick up their permits. So if you had your class recently you will get called soon. They are very busy, be patient you will soon have your permit Happy holidays !! Carry Safe!

I've seen that too about Sacramento county but have yet to see any other counties say that they will be doing the same.

        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

What size targets are used for qualifying?

I've been using B5's for practice and want to make sure to be using the right size.

Riverside allows 5, I think Ventura allows 4 or 5.
All allow at least 3, a few do not limit.

San Bernardino is limited to no more than 3.

                This is your "score zone"

                5 yards
                5 shots, reload, 5 shots.
8 out of 10 required in the zone to pass.

They believe that limiting you to 3 firearms on your permit makes you more proficient with them. With an unlimited amount of guns to practice with how could you possibly master them all?

That was what he said during our class.

My instructor (who basically wrote the curriculum) said that there wasn't room for more than 3 on the permit (they double-space)

Umm... go to the range 4x per month instead of twice?

But seriously... of my 3, one I have never carried, and only carried one other a few times. The Shield is my everyday.
When I renew, the one I never carry (G26) will be replaced with a P380, and at that point I will likely be more "balanced" in how frequently I carry each gun.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

So I'm in apple valley and thinking of applying. From what I've been told and what it says on the application it states.

That personal defence is not a valid reason to get a CCW?

I know in AV we use the county sheriff for this so what do you all think my chances are of getting it when wanting it for personal defence. [I'll pass background check etc].

And are they still asking neighbors? I'd rather some not know I have firearms although 1 or 2 in my complex are good people so I wouldn't care if those knew.

I wouldn't believe "what you have been told". Personal defense is fine but I'd expand upon that. A two word answer is just going to make your interview...interesting...when asked what do you mean.
                                They talk to your neighbors.
They make sure you actually live there and not just have a part time vacation place. Sometimes they say what it's for. I wish they wouldn't in most cases. Seems like they could just say it's for a County License or something.
