They open at 8... never hurts to be early. If 8 is a no-show, you'll be less pressed for time and get out early.

Trying to remember... I think I was there for 2 hours, maybe a little less.
Much of the time was waiting for the Livescan, fair amount of time filling out the "secondary" application that goes into more detail on background life experiences.

              Be honest

Some of the questions are based on items on the initial app. Some of the questions are slightly rephrased from others.
Some questions require another to be answered in a certain way, example, I had a DUI arrest 30 years ago. Since I was arrested, I also had to answer "yes" to "Have I ever been detained"

If you are honest and your background truly is clean, you'll have no problem.

Thanks. I had a incident when I was 19 (20 years ago), nothing major, but nothing i want to discuss in a public forum. I disclosed it in my app though. Not hiding anything from them

As long as you disclosed it and are not trying to hide anything tomorrow, you'll likely be fine.

The main thing is that they are simply looking for confirmation of what they already know or will uncover in the next 3 months.
They don't like surprises, unless it's maybe you telling them something they haven't uncovered.

My understanding is that unless it was a violent crime or most felonies they aren't going to turn you down for stupid stuff you did 20 years ago. Unless you lie about it... In 2013 only eleven people were rejected, mostly for being out of the county in their primary residence. They're not looking to reject, they are looking to approve.

So I called the nice lady at the Sheriff's department yesterday (Tuesday as suggested by another member here) about possibly getting an earlier (than Sep.) interview. She said no chance... they were swamped and that Riverside is already into 2017. She said if people cancel then the system would notify people with the option, but that not to count on it. She also asked that we not call for that purpose... She said she's also a member of Calguns and that we are a bunch of boneheads.

I was just reviewing the instructions on what to bring to my interview.

Legal documentation/police reports pertaining to any law enforcement contact.

How far back does this need to go? Speeding tickets count I assume? I never kept any ticket numbers. Can I just search my name and get case numbers on the SB court website? Then How to I get the report? Go to the citing officers station and give them court case number or just my name?

What if the charges are no longer on my record?

^^^ I'm wondering about all that too... I don't even have a moving violation in the last 25 years or thereabouts, but I had a bunch of petty crap when I was in my teens and 20's back in the 80's. I really have no way that I know of to locate any of that info, I just disclosed it to the best of my ability with an explanation that I'm certainly not trying to hide anything.

I received the call yesterday that background cleared and my range date is on Feb. 20 in Devore of 15. I was told it was an 8 hour class. For those that have already taken the range class, is it just one day 8 hour class or is it two days? Also, approx how long did it take to receive your actual CCW ID after the range class? Thx

Just finished the interview. I didn't have any of those documents either. Wasn't an issue

I checked with San Diego court for info on a ticket and they said they purge after 10 years for everything but felonies. They said a lot of counties do. I don't see it being an issue if it's that old anyway
