This is was my first time applying for my CCW and I got an error message during the online application :"The value in field SSN is already in database." Anyone else get this??

Odd, was the SSN field blank at the time? Otherwise it would suggest you hit send twice or someone else with the same SSN already applied.

Sounds like it is time for you to pick up the phone and give them a call.

From reading prior posts it appears that people who get the no appointments available message get an e-mail with an appointment date a few days later. Not sure about this but I think that is what they were saying. It also looks like the people who got an email with an appointment date might be getting dates earlier then those who got computer generated appointments.

Again that is only my understanding from the last few pages of posts. Can anyone confirm or rebuke this?

Call during business hours.

Every time I've called they've answered or gotten back to me quickly.

They've sent me 2 emails in 3 weeks confirming my interview already since the first confirmation.

Finally was able to get my interview date of 8/21. Funny thing is that's a Sunday. Not sure if it's a mistake. Going to wait until I get the confirmation email. Anyone else have a weekend interview?

I applied online 1/2/16 and got an interview for 2/26/16. I got to pick my date they had every friday from feb-march with 3 differant time slots to pick from.

Well, if that's the truth that's extremely frustrating and unfair to those of us who applied weeks or months ago and still have a 6-8 month wait until the interview.

Again, the system is automated.
As they add employees and new available interview dates, it seems that it is simply assigning the new openings to thise currently applying.
Give them a call Tuesday during business hours.. if something earlier is available, you should be able to get moved up.

I filed my application in mid December and have an interview 15 April. I have no problem with the wait but I'd like to know what is a "County certified Birth Certificate"? I have my original birth certificate is that enough?

The long (8.5 x 11), blueish bordered document with the raised seal on it. They do not accept the version marked "abstract" or any variant thereof.

You can not certify it. If your original has a raised governmental seal and was not issued by the hospital or have the little footprints on it, you are probably okay. Otherwise contact your birth state and inquire about vital records. You'll probably have to pay a small fee to have a certified BC issued. You may even be able to initiate your request online.
