Did you do the new format where you submit the application online and they call you to schedule your interview?
Do you have the link for the online app?

Had my interview on October 24th, my boss told me he received my CCW background sheet and sent it out on Friday. Hopefully I get a call soon that I passed backgrounds.

I asked my boss what type of questions the form asked and he said it asked about trustworthiness, reliability, etc

Hey everyone...couple questions regarding the application process.

            1. The instructions say to bring the original (plus one copy) of a utility bill. My only utility bill is electric (I rent, landlord pays everything else) but I don't receive bills in the mail; I get them electronically and pay it online. Anyone think I will have a problem just taking 2 copies of my printed e-bill?

            2. Same goes for the rental agreement; landlord has the original so I only have a copy. Think just 2 copies will be ok?

            3. Instructions also ask for legal docs/police reports for every law enforcement contact ever had. I have a handful of traffic violations that are all anywhere from 7 to 13 years old. Should I really get started on trying to hunt down all these tickets/reports from each agency? I wouldn't even know where to begin.

Thanks for any insight and tips from personal experience.

              1. Printed ebills worked for me
              2. Copies should be fine. I used a printout of my property tax bill.
              3. I just listed my 2 traffic violations; no supporting documents.

Picked up my permit this morning.

I had the same problem. I called Edison and told them i needed a paper bill, they sent it, then after i went back to paperless. But yes, take original.

                2. Same goes for the rental agreement; landlord has the original so I only have a copy. Think just 2 copies will be ok?

I had same issue. Leasing company only has original, so i went with my copy of the lease and made an extra copy for them. I had no problems.

                3. Instructions also ask for legal docs/police reports for every law enforcement contact ever had. I have a handful of traffic violations that are all anywhere from 7 to 13 years old. Nope, if its just a moving violation like no seat belt, speeding, etc you just have to list them on your application, thats it. You will be asked again to list them during your interview, so make sure to stay consistent.

Thanks for any insight and tips from personal experience.

Great, thanks for the insight to the both of you!

For anyone else starting the process, they said they have been having intermittent issues with the online application not going thru properly, so if you submit it online and don't get a call for an appointment within a week or two, you should call them yourself. They will then schedule your appointment.

As of yesterday, they are booking appointments for February.

Has anyone done a change of address? Its a PiTA. Does anyone know if a phone bill is sufficient for the utility requirement?

I may be changing addresses shortly after receiving my permit, or perhaps during the process. I'd like to know the change of address procedure as well. As far as I know, phone bills do not qualify as utility bills. Water, power, gas, trash, etc.

I'll have a problem if the phone billnis not acceptable. You have 10 days to notify them after a change of address. You need the new lease agreement or property tax bill, dmv change of address proof, and a utility bill.

Landline phone bill is. Has to be a utility attached to the address. Phone bills usually show the site address so they may not take it if it doesn't. They definitely don't take cell phone bills.

How is the weapon inspection wor, and are they only allowing bone Stock firearms? For example I am thinking of putting my M&P9 FS on my permit application. Thing is I have removed the magazine disconnect safety. Also might put a APEX trigger in my Shield 9 and remove that mag safety as well, which would also be one of the 3 (Shield9, M&P9 FS, 1911). Dont want to have my weapons disqualified over a stupid mag disconnect safety.

                                Any insight would be appreciated
